i have a problem...

 

i used to hit my mid pipe when i go over big humps when pillion bcoz my showa suspension too soft..

 

but i jus change to Gazi suspension only.. when alone riding is very strong.. when pillion my frien (60kg) go 1st link msia checkpiont hump also never hit...

 

yester i pillion my other friend (ard 90kg) go defa lane.. go thr upper paya lebar rd (which there is underground works there).. i keep hitting my pipes below.. mid hump in normal carpark also hit..

 

y? btw i ard 80kg already..

 

do suspension riser helps?

the load u r carrying on ur bike is too heavy for ur shocks. therefore when u change to gazi, its better. so mayb u wanna tighten the springs of ur rear shocks?? n oso, ur front fork mayb too soft oso.

 

i dun think adding a suspension raiser is good. i heard got alot of side effects. my personal advise is dun add the raisers. instead, do something to ur suspension.

yup

it will cause ur chain to be stretch more.

 

lucky u nv suggest on the weight part. but i would suggest which is what i am doing.

when u going over the hump, legs down and "roll" over hope u get the pic. it shld reduce the hitting

wat weight part?? dun understand leh...

 

but temporary measures can do wat quizesilver said. roll over. which is simply slowly the speed, n gently roll over. will reduce the chance of getting hit.

 

permanent measures is to get ur front fork checked.

 

fyi, bike's shock is design for average size ppl n average usage. therefore if u r a heavyweight champion pillion another heavyweight champion, u MUST modify ur shock to very hard ones else the life span of the shock will b reduced. n of cos, the quality of the ride is affected.

Yup..thats wat i do also..when going over humps..well not all..those which are high...leg down...slowly over the hump....Any shocks on super4 will make the exhaust hit the hump..think bcos the ground clearance for S4 is low...

sometimes hump too high oso. there's one hump at compasspoint, bike parking area is at the loading/unloading bay so hump is high n everytime i go over, will hit the headers.

 

another method is like wat the cars do. they dun go 90 degrees over the hump. they go by angle like mayb 40 degrees?? we oso can do that but must b careful cos may lost control if not careful.

thankz guyz.. i tune my rear spring to the max already.. i think is the front.. will be rebuilding it soon when my money comes in..

 

nw when i pillion with roll my bike over the hump.. i knw wat u all mean..

ur front fork, u may need to change the springs. cos its oso a wear n tear item. if u happen that u wanna change, try aftermarket ones. cos stock ones, after 3 to 4 years, same prob will arise...

i did the fork servicing at bikelab. they strip the forkn change the spring, oil seal n dust cover. all for $249.

 

mayb u can try other bike shop c they can get an aftermarket fork spring for u.

 

u may wanna tell them ur prob of hitting the header when going over hump. c if they diagnosed to b fork prob n need to change wat i recommand. cos i believe its the suspension. so c wat the mech u look for say then decide. wat they say can b true or can b bullshit.
