In my opinion, on the average, you will be 50% less capable of lane-splitting with side panniers on in heavy traffic.

Normal traffic condition, no problem.

Woodlands check point is a bit tight but do-able and no problem at tuas check point.

Typically the handle bar end to end width should be wider than the side panniers end to end width. So bike should be able to pass thru if its front can.

Hi guys, i'm keen on getting a Vstrom DL650.

Just wondering, has anyone here have any experience with the Hepco & Becker (H&B) side panniers?

I was looking at the Xplorer 30L side cases and was thinking of it as a permanent installation to the bike.

Will there be any issues in lane-splitting and squeezing thru the traffic?

My friend rides a Fazer 600 and his H&B Junior 30l side panniers are streamline enough that he can squeeze through.

I was wondering if its the same for the vstrom 650 cos the right side of the bike is occupied by the exhaust.

Comments pls. Thanks in Advance!

im not sure anyone encountered this.. im riding S4 with 40l H&B side panniers, went touring once with it and rear tyres start to fish tail when i go faster than 160kph on my speedo. realized it should be due to s4 not having a fairing to break down the wind thus causing turbulent at the panniers. (self analysis). im sure there are bros here who ride wee-strom with 40l panniers but did u guys encounter this problem??

thanks in advance

Hi all riders!!

By any chance if any of you guys are looking into getting good quality GOREtex jackets/raincoat. Please give my product a consideration too.

link : http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/370050-lt-CMO-gt-SALES-OF-GORETEX-APPARRELS-JACKETS-*Not-Common-Brands*

Alot of color choices and not the common brands of raincoat riders are using. Quality of water resistant is as good as NS issued. However, it's of a much thinner layers to suit our hot climate. Mutiple air ventilation zippers on the jacket too for riding during the day to protect from sun. More info please refer to thread or contact us! Thanks and ride safe! Cheers!~~

Hi guys,

Last week the squeaking sound got louder and it came from around rear shock absorber area. Definitely my vee is a head turner not because the bike and rider looks "garang" but because of the loud irritating squeking sound everytime the rear shock absorber got compress and rebound!

Some moto kaki adviced that it might not be a faulty shock absorber but rather the bearings at the cushion link. Worse case just rebuild the absorber or replace the cushion lever bearings.

I looked through the parts diagram and found the bearings location and sprayed lubricants generously, then leave it for sometime to find its way to the bearings.

Walla! The next day no more squeak! But not sure how long it will stay squeak free. Monitoring..........:dozed:

Saw the new 2013 vstrom 650. Look very promising. Question, how do it handle with 2 up and luggage at expressway speed? Enough torque? Or need to drop gear? Will it travel comfortably on the highway? 100-160km/h I'm surveying for a new class 2, 650cc sounds good enough for most spore based commuting. But no exp with the wee and vee

Hi Jazzco,

I do not know the seller but I personally think you should view the bike if you have not already done that. Maybe you guys can talk things over and eventually close a deal!

Even if you're not able to purchase it, at least you have something to compare with if you view another Vee in future... (Just a suggestion) Cheers!

Personally I think the concept DL1000 seems like it still use the old model's platform and from the front, especially the beak, it looks a bit like woody wood pecker.... :p

Hope the R&D will redesign the front look should they ever want to produce for the street.

Anyway it will definitely be a good add on to the current adventure touring bike line up!:thumb:

The DR800 is the Africa Twin contender by nature. This bike, I guess, like extinct already in S'pore and the AT is making its way to extinction.

Those bikes (DR & AT) are for sure the starting platform of the nowadays dual sporters.

I will sure honk honk if I ever see the DR800 on our road

HI GUyz,

Has anyone ever increase the height of your vees/wees by replacing the cushion rods, aka jack up links. I think the rods can be fabricated locally but need to know the correct length to get the desired height increase.

I would like to know any downside of doing so if anyone here has done it before.

Any 2012 wee interested getting pannier? I letting go my pannier with rack at $800(best offer) condition still very good used less than 3month.

I decrease the height instead of increasing it(increasing the lenght of links)... you can do it at KnT motorshop.

Thanks monsieur. KnT has the links (to increase or decrease height)? How much were you charged?

Thanks Bro.

Wah!,Your bike has the same colour as mine. I guess only old generation Vees has this colour scheme.

The furthest I've been so far was only to Krabi via Betong checkpoint and it was the best trip so far too.

Tot of doing Cambodia next year but unfortunately I was diagnosed with prolapse disc in Sept this year.

Now still recovering and I've started riding sometimes already but within Spore only.

Cheers to all V-stromers
