Bros a little side track a bit... Any good recommendations which shops/mechs that have available stroms parts and can repair the bike right away?? Went to Guan Hoe and they found out my auto choke need replacement coz can't idle went it cold start. But been waiting for more than 2 months still parts MIA. Haiiizzzz....

 

u mean the bike rpm wun went up when cold start isit? my mech turn it off for me..

nah bro..for the past more than 10 orders i made thru vpost,none of them came in more than 2.5 weeks from the day i make the payment.

 

i went thru the same cycle as u recently,looking for parts here and there,i now learn that the only parts readily available locally without much hassle,are the oil filter and all the screws for the bike

special stuff like the choke thingy..best to order online.good luck bro.

Tat day Peter told me it cost him $US 500 /- for the Teka Box ; therefore i think it would be quite expensive for us to buy from him . Then again , who will get to hold it ??

 

Anyway , one of these day, i will try to loan the Teka Box from him . Then i will arrange for a TEKA Day .

BTW, spend few hours on Sun to change coolent hoses located way underneath the carb. Of all the hoses and it had to be that ones!!! And I'd removed the secondary butterflies .. Feel sweet...

Yup, actually quite hard to find the clear signal lights for an 02 v-strom. Hee, don't need windshield now, cos got the ermax one.. if got chance next time, i'll order the ceebaileys windshield for 04 model, hopefully u r the 1st one to sms me

I used Pirelli Scorpion STs previously on another bike n went for a trip to MHS with it. The tires offer good grip in dry n wet roads even in thai road, felt cornering was easier with the tires. My existing v-strom had a new pair of tourance by prev owner which gives some front wobbling effect at the front when going at say 40-60km/h. Read the 11109.rapidforum and some of the owners also have the same issue with tourance. I will go for Scorpion for the next tire change although it's slightly more pricey. U may want to try it out.

I too experienced front tyre wobbling liked u mentioned with my previous Tourance.

 

However , I am very happy with my new set of Battlewing (3mth old) . Handling is good for both high and low speed . Cornering with Battlewing is much better than with Tourance . Good wet grip - tested . So far ,off road capability yet to be tested . Cost wise ...only $300 from HKL . Other tyres to recommend :

* Michelin Pilot Road - rated one of the best for handling and grip

* New Metzeler Tourance - yet to be available in Spore

GSJohn > I've nvr tried Pirelli before on any of my bikes. So when I came across the Scorpion ST tyres @ Motoworld and it really caught my eyes. They look a bit like Tourance. You r rite, it's pricey they quoted me $360. Strangely, I had gd experience wif Tourance on my prev Varadero. No wobbling.

 

 

FastForward > I'm tempted to try Battlewing too as I'm a true believer of Bridgestone. They have excellent grips on wet.

 

 

Desmo > I also heard Anakee is gd, quoted $320 by HKL but do this tyre have longevity? How long did it lasted u? My stock Trailwing lasted me at least 26000km.

 

 

Called HKL to chk above tyres for me. He only managed to quote me the Anakee. Said will chk for me the rest but nvr get back to me. Thk I just have to make a trip there soon.
