Went for my inspection on Tuesday and the person failed me on LED signal lights and my number plate's letters and numbering too close :| So have to now go fix and send back for inspection again

Hey guys, I went to change my air-filter to KnN around last week. The mech who fixed up the filter also cut off a part of the airbox. Now it sounds hollow when I'm accelerating. I know for some, this is good but for some its bad. Just wanted to know, how is the effect in the long run. Will it damage the engine? Cause I didn't ask for the airbox to be cut but found out he do it anyway.

went for inspection 2 days ago for my x1r. failed for racing footrest and oversized brake discs. why they fail when racing footrest give a better position for cornering and the oversized brake discs give a better braking power? im using full set brembo calipers and master pump somemore. zzz

 

anyway they took pictures of the things that did not pass. so how ar?

Doesnt matter if its good for your ride. All they want to see is OEM! Ha.

 

But funny thing is i passed my bike with quite a few aftermarket parts thou.. Maybe diff class of bikes they couldnt careless?

Sometimes it really depends on luck when u go for inspection. LTA did not fail my brembo brake kit, but the inspection said cannot pass. Haiz...

Hey guys, need to for my inspection soon. My bike is on a fender eliminator, can I just add a piece of black plastic to the number plate to act as the mud guard? Haven gone to inspection for a long time, last time scrambler can do this. Not sure if it's the same now? Riding a cbr600 now..

Hahaha. Dude, if u dun mind risking a sure fail den perhaps u could do that.. If you read these past few post. Ppl kept saying inspection centres are getting more strict.

reason being - taking over a bike with road tax ending 1.5 weeks right after.

From my understanding, they don't check your meter.

Hi guys, I just started riding again. I'm riding a S4 spec 1 with mod spec 3 tail end and my approved aftermarket exhaust still registered with the last owner name, will this pass the inspection? if not pass, how should i do?? pls advise...

At Sin Ming Vicom, I saw a version S failed coz of the modded Spec 3 tail then he left angrily.

 

You can try other inspection centre? First of all, you need to find an authorised dealer and transfer the exhaust to your name.

No flicking switches, just leave your headlights on as they will check the beam alignment.

can u update on the light? did u pass insp? is it LED? where did u get it?

 

spent today's lunchtime going to all the motobike spares shops to look for replacement signal lights but got nothing. FJT most helpful in explaining their products.

Went for inspection at Vicom Bukit Batok. Bike GSR 400. Failed for LED pole lights and Sticker type front number plate. Are sticker number plates considered illegal now ? Went on my CBR 150 with sticker front number plate and passed. Double standards ?!?! Any bros can shed some light ?

Sticker no. Plate paste direct on windscreen = fail.

Sticker no. Plate paste on aluminium plate then paste on windscreen = pass.

Very stupid rule. I kena this many years ago.

Recently went to LTA ( Sin Ming) for appealing regarding signal lights .

 

Those were passing for the past three years with the same inspection centre VIC#m & btw i got those default from the bike shop, as i bought the bike from bike shop.

 

The officer advised me, when a bike comes under your care , the owner is responsible for everything on it. Whether the inspection centres pass you now and two years later they fail you, its upto their mood. So to be on safe part, bikers or drivers should call LTA and confirm the parts & should install. He told me to follow the rules blindly & no questions should be asked.

 

I went back , changed to stock signal lights & paid the fine 100 as well.

 

2cents worth advise, stick to stock and no cosmetic mods is better.
