They are no different from frame sliders, just purely made of metal only.

Hong Leong have frame sliders, cost abt $270+ (now no stock, need to order). I knew cos I just receive a reply mail from them.

Check with them liao - they got custom made, but need to send the detail spec. over. $150 for a pair, compared to $270, is very cheap leh. Anyone seen these type of metal sliders(?) before? How much here?

Hmmm....finally got the lining in place. Remember the petrol tank lining I mentioned. Personally, I find it worth the price I paid for as it's of excellent quality.

The lining that covers only the front part of the petrol tank, comes with metal in between the rubber which helps to shape the lining, improving protection and securing it in place without the fear of it dropping out and no glue is needed. Furthermore, the rubber lining itself is a U-shape wif two 'fins' protruding inwards, thus helps preventing/reducing water from sipping in and accumulate inside the lining, plus it helps to secure the lining in place as well.

A must have to protect the edges of the tank. Why need to protect the edges? Well, to service XJR400R, like changing spark plug, air filter, etc, the tank requires removal or lifting the tank up (for the case of changing spark plug). This will poses as a risk that the edge may be accidentally scratch, or paint chip off, etc. With the lining in place, it will protect the edge from such incident.

Why it is better than those cheapo lining available at motordiam (eg. LAB)? Well, those cheapo lining will fade, esp. those chrome or color ones. Plus it is secure in place by the glue inside the lining. On some occasions (personally experience b4), either the lining has been kept too long and glue no longer as sticky and strong holding as those fresh ones, or due to wear and tear, the lining will drop off posing as a risk. I had experienced that the lining on the rear fender of Phantom dropping off and luckily, it did not go inside the sprocket, else I am not sure what would have happen to me n my bike.

S4-Vtec K&N Air Filter will not fit as it's oval shape while ours is round. Next, there will be modifications required to fit it since XJR's air filter comes with the top cover fix together to the round cone air filter.

Washing carb? So fast?

Dun wash carb too often lah, waste money and well, it's always best left things at stock condition. Once washed, u will need to do a full tuning, etc...

Ur mileage how much liaoz?

It is Yamaha original parts...same length as the one on the tank.

Need to order in as they dun keep stock.

I am still looking for similar quality product. It's those trims that is use in cars, like the window trims, bumper trims, etc....Not sure where can find all these, and of the same quality.

With my riding style, my mileage is between 20-22+km per litre.

Normally I pump up abt 14 to

*NOTE: Please bear in mind my riding style. I think some of u know how I ride when I am alone...^wink^

No color available. It is a spare part (if u check the parts catalogue, it's there, there is a part no. for it) itself. Price to me is not expensive, but to some, they will find it exp. It's >$10 per piece.....wait time abt 2 weeks.

But I personally find it very very useful, esp. if u do D.I.Y too. The edge paintwork potentially to be damaged since change sparkplug need to lift up the tank, oso, put back tank oso quite tough due to the length of the two breather tubes below the tank, near the end where the mounting 4 screws are.

You need 2 pieces...one on each side....

Broquet....nah...not going to try until later stage. If pple from my group feedback ain't that positive (coz I trust their 'feel' for their bike and judgement more), I ain't going to try anymore. Like I said, if u r one who always require to pump petrol every 2 days, most likely the fuel savings ain't going to be great, if any at all. Reason - be it not sufficient time for the broquet to start having effects or be it that the petrol is too 'fresh' to have any effects, I dunno.

As for other mods, it will come eventually. I am still in the testing and evaluation stage. Haven't even complete evaluating what engine oil is good, so most of the things are still stock condition.

One thing u may wanna try is to remove that air-input 'mouth piece' under ur seat. Somehow, it does affect performance a little at high speed (>120km/hr). But still too early to conclude on it, coz like I said, still evaluating and testing.

Guys, do u all have a problem which I myself dun really like...

When u e-brake or when u pillion someone and do a hard-braking, the pillion dun slip down towards u but u urself slip down and sorta like ur balls on the tank's edge, and ur ass/butt on the rider seat...

Think S4 better coz pillion someone, sure the pillion will slip down towards u one...hard braking or not.
