I was actually hoping that if I made it rich I can be the dealer for this car. DAMN! someone beat me to it already.

A used Ariel Atom3 in UK with excellent condition and on higher specs (carbon fibre) costs about 40,000 Pounds.

 

I have a colleague who took his masters in Leeds in Automotive engineering said to me that Ariel Atom is based on a University student's project that gone very right. The chassis follows the standard way of construction. They like to use double wishbone front suspenisons. All they need is to buy in the engine, power train and the transmission. The suspensions are bought off the shelves. The brakes are most likely too. Even for all these ingenuity, demanding for 288K is too much. And perhaps they prey on those who can afford but do not really know about automotive engineering to know that given the right parts you can even build one yourself in your school workshop.

 

Ariel motors used to build motorcycles too.

If getting atom for track use, I would suggest getting a kit car (Fisher sports car)from the UK instead. DIY everything..using bike engine.. just my 2cent

Or Scorpion. These cars have a replica of the real exotic sports cars. But the problem is how to transport the vehicle to the track. And also, if the British know how much are the Ariel Atoms going for here, they'd probably laugh their heads off.

Definitely... transporting it to the track shouldn't be much of a problem i guess. Actually it's possible to make your own if you have friends studying in NUS. It is call Formula Student. Most important is the chassis i think. just my 2cent.

Ya lah, even in Philippines they can just build a car lidat, Sg here is everything tape to money, the import tax, the custom tax, the tax everything, how to build?

There goes your 3rd most expensive city in Asia.
