hi honda super four friend need help

 

I had a honda superfour ver r, my bike had a problem that my new battery only last for 3 to 1 weeks, even I have change my retifire and new battery

went to my machanic for wiring checking but find nothing faulty with my bike wiring:giddy:

can anyone of honda superfour friend give some clue or comment about my problem, my bike had only this problem please help:giddy:

Is the bikeshop u went is 1st time visit or regular visit? try another bikeshop... for battery problem, either is rectifier or battery not recharge automatically only...

It My Regular Machanic Even He Use All The Gauge And Meter Reading Can't Find Anything Wrong With My Wire, He Even Recharge My Battery And Recommend Me If Within 1week The Problem Happen ?to Change New Battery

i had a prob last time, My bike could charge my batt. So i bought the bike to Albert shop. They told my Coil was gone. helped me to change.. check ur coil bro.. mayb it could b the prob..

If charging voltage is ok.

 

Take out all the non-stock electronic stuff, e.g. ERP, alarm, voltmeter etc.

 

Using a amp meter, remove the bike's ground wire from the battery. Put the positive probe from the amp meter to the ground wire, put the negative probe from the amp meter to the battery negative terminal. Bike key in the 'OFF' position.

 

The reading should be less than 0.01mA.

 

If anything more than that, you have a short circuit somewhere in the wiring that is draining your battery.

 

 

 

If charging voltage is not ok.

Since your battery and rectifier is new, then it is likely that your stator coil is bad.

 

According to service manual, charging voltage should be 14V-14.8V at 5000rpm with headlight on hi-beam. But being an old bike, I think you will not get 14V, but it should be above 13.7V for battery to be charged.

 

 

 

It is advisable to check your battery charge level periodically. It is an indicator of the health of your charging system. Best is install a voltmeter to monitor charging voltage and battery charge level.

 

Your charging system mainly consist of the stator coil, rectifier and battery. If one of them is bad and you ignore it, very soon the other two will be dead also.

stator consists of 3 coil(wire) loops, a rotating magnet causes alternating current in the loops which is then converted to direct current by the rectifier.

 

For a proper explanation, do a search on the net. There are plenty of information on motorcycle's electrical system.

install it on tue 02/12/08 and on 09/12/08 my bike cannot start had to push start and went to my machanic after all check and charge battery it last for week till 15/12/08 it happen again, my machanic recommend me to change battery please help if you all thing what really the fault

recently i had change my rxz header back to stock headlight. Also, changed my signal lights to those small type. after changing.. realise my voltage doesn't hit 14 and usually when i collect bike, voltage dropped below 12.. what could be the problem ?

Which brand of batt are u using?Dont go for those lousy brand batt.They cant hold the chagre well!A good batt should be able to start even if u never touch the bike after 3 days..Grounding on bike oso can help for proper charging.

Try to get OEM super 4 yuasa battery.Must have the fine prints(MADE IN JAPAN) on the battery.It come in RED box packing instead of blue.No need waste time,effort and monies to change those cheap battery every now and then.

I just installed revtec 2 on my s4 vtec1 yesterday... its supposed to charge the battery better.. you mean it could have a draining effect instead? From the revtec reviews so far, most are good...

It cost $65.Got the battery from my friend.

He also charge it fully before installation in bike which is critical for new battery.

Maybe u can try shop along jalan besar if they carry such battery

Hi ismail, the problem u mentioned seemed very complex and serious, why not drop down to the shop of this friendly expert to diagnose, i think they wil give u a very reasnable price tag, most importantly, yr S4 recovers from virus & illness.

 

the OEM super 4 yuasa battery(MADE IN JAPAN) as kindly shared by tng2377 is how much with installation.

What is the signal the battery would be prompting telling S4 riders to change, yr advice pls. Thanks
