You BETTER do. If he don't agreed, there is something I should think the reason his bike wanna be sold off..but again, I may be wrong but just to be on the safe side and you not being the one crying.

I had two cases already..from private owner to buyer, both engine block crack coolant leakage problems, read :

1) Use plan tap water in the coolant so when leak from mid engine block hole, the water comes out colourless and dried up very fast. Result after two weeks, water dries up and bike further overheat. Coolant rubber hose oso contaminated with rust flakes from already rusted radiator.

2) Middle engine block hole was already leaking. Smart owner plugged up the whole with steel epoxy glue (very nicely done) and spray with nice finished black paint. New owner later (after close to two weeks) found heavy leakage of green coolant but can't tell where. Later found his number 4 spark plug access all flooded with coolant. Worst was that the spark plug was not tighten (another two oso..must be own DIY). The crack was internal from the other side now and coolant has oso gotten into the combustion chamber and crank case. :faint:

Just for info..to get a second hand mid block and have this repair, it's gonna cost $800+ and a few days wifout the bike, a new mid block would cost you around $1,600 and may take weeks or months if there is no spare. NOt every good mototiam would wanna do it because all 16 valves holes has to be grind to fit the new mid block..and its not gonna be cheap.

Anyway..test the water hose first by squeezing all the rubber hoses..if got biscuit cracking feeling, you know likely trouble already started. For leakage, no choice..strat the bike and let it idle for 10 to 15 mins and check the mid block leakage whole. This apply only to non vtec. Vetec version, I dunno.:sian:

Here's the explainantion for valve clearance(hope you can understand) :

Shops to recommend Planet,Bikeworkz,Unique and many2 more.

Q no1.:- of course lah you feel got power cut off when you clutch in to change gear. Because when you clutch in the power from the engine is disconnected from your gearbox...Aiya! :dozed:

...............................................................................

Q2. Thks again for the info.

Q1. The power really cut off (ie. engine totally stopped !) when I clutched in. I just casually check with a motor shop. He mentioned that my clutch plate may need to change. What think u ?

Asking a quick question as I couldn't find an online owner's manual for Spec 1. Where is the switch to adjust idle on a Spec 1 bike? Thanks!

Hanging at an angle bewteen the center of the set of carbs. Its a gear like knob. Clockwise..slower idle:goodluck:..anticlockwise..higher.

Hi Everyone, I would like to ask a question tat puzzled me for a month..

I am riding Spec III, no Revo..

(Q) while the bike is moving, sometimes the speedo-meter needle will drop to 0km/h. Then I can feel a lag of power in the engine.., the engine feels stuck stuck when I rev up above 5..what is happening? :(

hi all,

i need your advice pls. i've never owned a bike before but wanna get a 2nd hand s4 which i will confirm sell after 1 yr.

my main concern is to limit the depreciation after 1 yr & the wear/tear maintanence within the yr. i'm not too concerned w other issues like fc or performance.

shld i get a 2-3 yr old or 10 yr old s4? budget is up to $10k. thanks!

wif ur budget, u can get watever spec o S4 u wan depending on bike condition, if u wanna ride, dun think of depreciation rate etc, but if u selling 1yr later, might as well keep ur current bike then upgrade:goodluck:

hi thanks for your input. i currently ride a bicycle only & hope to get a s4 for 1 yr as my very 1st motorbike b4 upgrading.

the depreciation is impt cos i only intend to ride the bike 2-3 times a wk & don't want to lose too much just for my joy rides nor go for repairs too often.

does anyone heard of REVTEC? to by pass the power-cut? would like to ask, if install to a spec 3, is it harmful to e bike? any negative comments?

if u wanna ride a yr, then i think u should jus get a 2b bike.. that wil be more cheaper.. cos s4 maintainance is roughly 1k depends on how often u ride , those wear n tear... 2cent worth:smile:

WTS givi e16 smile box, with led @$20
