Type of coolant really doesn't matter. Those expensive ones are just a GREAT waste 0f $s. I suspected that there are still lots of 'air pocket in the water jacket areas when they did the coolant refilled. It takes quite awhile to filled full the 18 litres needed especilly running on the engine and pressure to help occuppied the full coolant path. These usually ahppened when the thermostat is not open yet while topping up.

What you can do now is to fill your reservoir coolant tank half mark above the "Full" level as there may not be enough of coolant to filled up all. Coolant coming out of the overflow tube is ok..its meant to be when the coolant over boils. But this should not happened if the level is correct at the level between the low and high level markers. If this is the case, could be thermostat problem since you just change the pump..provided the pump is not damag while during installation.

Also be sure your coolant is not mix with tap water..mototiam very famous for getting water just from the tap.

hi ytd i just serviced/tuned my carb. mech told me need to change the needle valves. 80 bucks for 4.

how to tell whether need to change or not? he said the top black like got "lines" so need to change if not, overflow.

since the shop like got good rep, i trusted them. hmm...

me 2 me 2 the mech told me the same thing. i went to service/tune my carb, the mech say must change the needle valve, $80 for 4, then somemore i got the change the carb rubber seating x4 $60 and the carb gasket x4 $88, +$60 so total is $288 for the carb only.

i also same reaction with u, since the shop gt gd rep, i believe them.... hmmm...

Any Supermart (NTUC..etc..)...as long as the label says "distilled" or "Pure"...not "Mineral" water.

if the previous owner done the jettings, u no need to do liao, when u service ur carb, can ask the mech to check the jet size to confirm

if nv change will it spoil my valves or anything?

normal jets will do, if u wan performance, use dyno jet kit.

dyno run is to determine ur HP, torque, A/F, top speed etc, to know ur bike performace.

if nv rejet will result in lean engine and low performance

now yoshi is like coming to $800 while LV is like $500...

so ex? i saw motorworld selling @ $600?

must ask the previous owner to hand over the inspection cert to u, no need go for inspection again unless u transferring ur pipe to another bike or ur bike changing another pipe

Hi all.. Im riding a spec1.. having this problem of knocking(tiak tiak) sound from the engine when the bike is cold.. sound goes away after bike is warmed up.. when it's still cold, clutching in and reving stops the sound for awhile only. I've heard abt this case for a couple of s4. Is it normal? can it be ignored?
