what u guys choose if given a superfour spec1 coe renewed n gilera vxr ?

and for travelling distance ? and consumption? which is better?

Definately Spec1 for me, wayy more fun!

Travelling distance can expect approx 300-350km? b4 reserve, depends how itchy your right hand is.

A very rough average on FC is about - 20 - 25km/L

One thing about Super 4 is original parts might be expensive, but when you see how reliable they are you will realise your money was well spent.

I'm new to the Super Four world. I'm in the process of repairing a Spec 1, and I need new brake rotors. Does any one know the size of both the front and rear rotors, and what other motorcycles have the same sizes? Also, what about aftermarket choices? I live in Korea, and I'm finding it a little hard to locate parts...

Thanks for any help!

anione to advise me..thanx

No one answer you?...hmmmm may be most ppl knows by now that what u intend to do is a WASTE of $s!

Shroud, RXK headlamp (no H4 bulb), belly pen etc...what for. Better save the money for a rainy day like replacing a good battery, coil and useful stuff like mt eo  and makes your bike performance at its peak.

You shold have bought a fairing bike instead of the naked S4.

Braking do have rotors for Spec 1..

You can PM Motovation Accessory for info..

Thanks for the heads up. Is Braking the only company anyone has tried? I like the Braking components, but I'd like to look at some competitors also. I have such a hard time finding the aftermarket for this bike online. :faint: I need to learn Japanese...

i think it depends... if u wan power then go for s4... runner (to me) once reach 80,wanna accelerate higher is like snail crawling...runner got 12litre fuel tank, its fc range is 24 to 30km/l. main thing is runner no need to lub chain =p... but it get overheat very easily if u caught in jam, but jam auto v easy to squeeze..hehee..

Hey guys got a question here. I opened up the front sprocket cover to clean the oil+dirt from inside.

When I replaced the cover, found that the chain rubs against the plastic... it goes away if I don't tighten the upper right hand bolt fully. What could I have missed out that would cause this?

My bike is stock! Please don't jio me!

there are other brands like HUNTER.. but i do not know where does it originate.. very likely Taiwan.. and some other compatiable rotors that are much cheaper and brandless..

if you want reliable, stick to Braking..

Had not heard any complaints abt Hunter rotors.. but i dunno where can you get them..

it could be either your carbon starter brush that had worn off, your push start switch spoilt or your sparkplug fouled..

get a mechanic to check..

Hello all,

I have just bought a 2003 Honda CB400 Version S here in Hanoi, Vietnam. This is my first real bike I have owned( scooters aside), and though I was looking to buy a Honda FTR ( I have recently driven one through Northern Laos..trip report to follow) I went for the CB for 2 reasons: I just loved it after the test drive, and for some reason the FTR is about a $1000 USD more than the CB and I can't understand why being such a simpler bike. I understand these 2 bikes are apples and oranges but I do want to do some touring with the bike, and the CB is a lot more interesting day to day for me.

Now my question is, does anyone have any tips or experience they can share with touring on a CB type bike? I am getting a custom rack made to attach 2 side boxes and thinking of getting 2 tires with a different thread ( meaning changing the sport biased tires for something that can handle varied conditions). Naturally I am planning on keeping in on tarmac, but in Vietnam you never know what the roads are going to be like and driving on the gravel shoulder is quite normal when 3 buses are passing each other in the on coming lane.

I am not an experienced rider or very knowledgeable in bikes but I am doing my research and would like to get your opinions on making the CB a reasonable tourer for tarmac and the unforeseen stuff that occurs. I will be heading to BKK at the end of April so I am hoping to pick up some parts while there and see what is available. Any suggestions for places in Bkk to look? I also need to get equipped with proper riding gear and some boots ( this is the first thing, I think) and any recommendations are really appreciated.

Thank you from Hanoi.

dont mind asking again what is the fuel consumption for vtec 1 ??

mine is 250km b4 going into reserve and when it hit reserve and i top up it will be around 13.5l.

so if calculate it will be 18km/l is there sumthing wrong?

after reading a few post some rider said b4 tuning they hit 320 and after tuning they can hit 350 and mine cant even see the 300 mark. do help

haha. that sound like my bike. but bro, it depends on your riding style. for me, i seldom open vtec. only travel at 100 to 105km/hour max. i using stock pipe so i guess FC will be better.

yes.. go and find those 3M sandpaper which can be pasted on your exhaust to protect it.
