Review from my 2 offroad sessions, the E is EASY to ride. Maybe because it's 4-stroke? o_O Keeps pretty decent traction in the rain. I reckon it is because of the milder low end that keeps the rear in place. Climbs pretty well too. In all, the bike goes at the will of the throttle, need for speed in straights just gas it; need traction in corners just gas it too but lesser this time :thumb:

ONly down side it is heavy. Pretty ok if u dun fall, I had the opportunity to lift it up once though >_

just wondering, how many of you have installed frame guards on your bike? which is a more preferred material? carbon fibre or alloy? or maybe, Titanium?!

for my knowledge, frame guards are to protect the frame from scratches from MX boots. therefore, it's not really something to protect from impact.

judging from this, maybe carbon fibre will be an ideal choice for usage of frame guards. moreover it's light! what say you?

Carbon fibre is the way to go.

However I had B&B aluminium ones on my bike.

Removed after SM conversion.

Pix of the carbon DSP ones posted on TT.

A friend of mine did it before.

the airbox boot and manifold boot have to be changed to the E model ones.

Eddy's the guy I was talking about all right!

What's interesting is he ordered a E model exhaust system which didn't cost too much. About $500 I think. Something S model owners might want to look into hehehe BTW, his was the F4 muffler... potentially LOUD!

Posted

eh.. but beside being loud... does the F$ exhaust have erm.. effects on performance? i thought slider also must change? due to that mikuni carb is 36 mm only?

F4 exhaust.... header is larger diameter, muffler is less restricted.

That should improve power or response.

Oh yes I recall that the endcap is the open type.... confirmed LOUD.

No potential... reach the LOUD stage already

What slider you referring to Ryan?

Posted

eh.. .salah... it was a confusion.. iaslo dunno what slider italking about... anyway a lot of things to change for the FCR siah...

i wonder if u guys out there riding the 05 drz haf ever noticed tat our rims are actually excel rims?

it's excel but without the yellow lettering. instead, it's engraved.

no yellow lettering is better as if our yellow colour is not attention grabbing enough....deter thieves from stealing our rims

Never ridden the S before so I really can't say for sure.

But my friend who installed the FCR and E exhaust was super happy with it.
