if you realised, R.C had pasted some rough sticker on his frame to protect it from scratches from the boots. this is effective for boots only.(that's what i feel) if the frame comes in contact with asphalt, it's gonna be really "sweet"! so for just boots protection. maybe those kinda tank protector carbon fibre stickers will be able to do a good job and it's cheaper than carbon fibre frame guards which surely, there will be people stealing it from you... sticker.. if not the choice of alloy frame guards is still available. ah tiang have bought it from him. for me, i think i'll get the sliders for the forks and swingarm first and the carbon fibre stickers up first...

 

anyone have any idea where to get sliders for DRZ?

u still int in the frame guards ah?

Cut a piece of aluminum to match the PAIR's gasket and bolt it to the head and sealing the opening. On the carb side just cut the pipe and use a apropriate plug used in sprinkler systems.

the thing is called PAIR... stands for Pulsed Air Injection Reaction (not sure one.. cut and paste from others) heh... i dun want alloy one... i want carbon fibre! eh erm... yes the bold is also cut and paste from others the method of removal of the PAIR system.

 

and i just removed the rubbers on the pegs, it really grips better. and after seeing a DRZ-S wit wider foot pegs, i feel like getting it siah.... eh ah tiang.. u got the sliders already? i decided liao... end of this month push the bike to bike shop and get the regrease done lar.. spend the money to buy peace of mind. but maybe i'll nua at the bike shop the whole day to see them do it then learn at the same time so next time i can do it myself when armed with the tools.

KJ > When Alan removed the CE on my bike, we replaced it with a 38PJ and 75PAJ. However it pops on decel like nobody's business. Solution is to swap to a 40PJ and 70PAJ. I didn't bother to look for jets so juz slapped the CE back on, put back the stock 45PJ and 60PAJ. On another note, some recommended to change to a adjustable pilot air screw for easy tuning. You might wanna look into that.

 

Ryan > Glad you like the extra grip. I'm letting go my stock E model footpegs if you're interested. They are wider than yours but not as wide as Shaowei's IMS. Those "grip tape" on my frame aren't for protection against the road. Either way, they shouldn't touch anything unless you landed on a kerb or something heh.

I guess that's the fun thing abt owning a Z... all of them in here will tell you the same thing as well. My personal reason for buying the DRZ was because of the low maintenance and magic button. Everything else was found out after ownership!

 

End of the day, it will be you owning and riding the bike. Choose one that you'll not regret buying.

the 'magic button' failed on me ...

now when i pressed, no cranking sound...only got some slight hissing sound...is my starter gone? or my batt? headlights seems fine to me..

 

how much to fix it? anyone can give me a quote?!

Sounds like what I've encountered for my old DRZ.. It just went 'siao' suddenly.. In my case, it was the coil..

KJ, I'm quite happy with my current setup of 38 (RC knows better)

It was quite a popper till I adjusted the PAS to an estimated of 70. However many turns that is.

 

RC, I also kena dead coil before... Push bike when I went out with my ex on 1st date. Talk about shy...

for those who are interested in getting the slider for the DRZ SM....no need to order from overseas. I will be fixing the sliders which is measured and machined for our bike through someone within this week. will take some photo and update if you all are interested.

I stop the scary Blue & yellow back fire liao..haha change needle from JD red to blue..LOL

 

Quite zai sia to see the Flame..lol.. imagine some ah beng bike behind u u rev and release he see blue fame..LOL.. wicked!!!
