then, what's the advantage of doing additional holes on the sideboards?

so a 3x3 under the seats n some holes on the sideboard, isn't it overkill?

actually if you have holes drilled in your airbox cover, your bike will sound louder when you throttle as the airbox sucking in the air..

unlike 3X3 underseat.. which is softer by alot..

konspire: dun drill it, if you wanna try, i can lend you mine..

if you drill too much holes, it'll be something similar to no airbox..

if i'm not wrong, this setup will cause lose of power during high speeds..

Typical kiasu behaviour.

Kiasu people always think that more is good... they are simply ignorant of the word 'moderation' or 'overkill'.

People always think that a bigger main jet means more power when they are so totally wrong.

An engine produces the most power when it is running lean and hot. The hotter the better.. thats why liquid cooled engines produce more power than aircooled engines.

The coolant is able remove the extra heat faster than air can... and since it can remove heat faster.. they make the engines run hotter... meaning more power.

guys,

no diff IMHO.

since all are legalised to be used on the street (read as "restricted"), thus to me, all shared similar performance due to compliance with the legal directives.

the thing that differs then, is the outlook and the sound.

thats my stand, see wat others say lo. :p

well, biting_point n raptor. ur words hv said enuff. that's wat my logic is, too much air will not build the correct pressure for the correct mixture. it's like free flow of air, well, a free flow of beer will make a man drunk so a free flow of air will make a bike bloated...heeheh...i dunno if that's relevant. well, enuff said. i hope we all learn from here. it may look nice n cool to have holes on the sideboard with wire gauze but then, it just look nice i guess......thxs for sharing....:thumb:

So is it advisable to upgrade to a bigger carb after changing exhaust , rejet and 3*3 modifications ?? Its a want and not a need to do it ryte ..

i've read abt fellow zee riders, complainin of loss of power with tos holes drilled at e sideboards.. 3x3 shld b sufficient already..

abt scorpion n gpr.. not much difference to me honestly.. both sounds loud only when restrictor is removed..

with a change of exhaust, rejet n 3x3 should do good.. dun nd to change bigger carb..

guess that's it. for mine, it comes wif a scorpion fs, 3x3 n rejetted (i guess cos it feels ok, no unnecessary backfire n the endcan doesn't feel too hot). i just chgd the air filter to aftermarket n now it feels more breathable n it now sounds different. n of cos, i just chgd to mcct. now the bike feels different. response is better by just opening the throttle n it feels like ready to go.......

btw, do we hv to retune after chging to aftermarket air filter?
