hi guys

i feel my rear suspension kinda soft/saggy.. like when you start to move of, the weight shifts to the rear too much and kinda gives me a scary feel like lost of steering, even with little throttling.

what can i or a mechanic do? theres a canister on the rear shox.. does it need servicing like topping up gas into it?

the front forks servicing need to do what and will cost how much?

and also rear shox servincing need to do what and how much?

rear spring ? ohlins ? now you are tempting me !

but is it better to change the whole rear shock ? or just the rear spring ?

or does it depends on what you wanna achieve ?

Got more dough to spare, change shock to ohlins. Abt 1.3 k

dun bear to spend that cold hard cash, Change spring and increase compression. A good enhancement from stock. abt 200 bucks and below including shipping. Labour can DIY or can go to mech.

try adjusting it first.. there's preload, rebound and compression to play with for rear suspension..

front forks normally change oil seals and oil which costs abt $120.. if too soft, you can try changing to thicker fork oil or a higher spring rate..

rear will be more complicated as like you said the canister.. it'll be bleeded and top up with nitrogen.. seals and oil will be changed too..

rear will be slight more expensive, say abt $250??

Change the whole shock.. when you change just spring only, you need to service the rear suspension.. whole thing cost abt $500 with springs..

Save up a little more and go for the big bang..!!

changing springs will not increase compression but just the preload..

compression is controlled by the valves inside the shock..

changing to a thicker oil will harden to compression and rebound settings..

Yup of course change spring will require u to rebuild also.

many ppl also say change whole shock but i dun really wanna spend so much.

that few hundred bucks more can buy meself a fcr maybe?

my quote from racewerks is $380 with all in with ohlins oil for rear shock rebuild.

just bought my DRZ!!! like to ask if the aftermarket headlights ( acerbis ,etc ) can it pass roadblocks and inspections ?

yup. mine passed every roadblock and inspections.

only when yr bike is taken back by LTA/ TP, thats where they'd take action. anything not from the original drzr400sm specs, will be deemed illegal.

thats wat i think of also.. i would deem anything besides the price of the spring to be "unnecessary"... so to me it will be more value-for-money to get the whole ohlins shock setup instead.

DRILL HOLES?!?!?!?!

DRC tail lights can be fitted nicely onto the sub frame using the spacers and screws provided without drilling of the rear fender..

FYI, rear fender cost $84 at KS Motors.

It's easy to DIY, plus you can tidy up your own wires..

I did mine with quick release connectors for trackdays..

tidy the connections by using heat shrinks instead of stick black tapes..
