hey guys. how much is the machine price now?

what about second hand prices?:thumb:

anyone can share their insurance prices with me? include your age too. i want to know how much roughly is an insurance for a 19 year old, although i am aware that you have to call the insurance company and ask.

OTR 13.5k excluding IU ( BP quotation for a 20yo)

my insurance is 3rd party 800+ and 2nd party 1.4k ( before NCD)

and im 20.

2nd hand bikes range from 7-11k depending on year, condition, accessories, etc

tpft, third party fire and theft,as the name mentions covers third party claims, fire and theft.third party jus covers third party claims.so if ur having a third party insurance coverage and ur bike is stolen, there's no room to claim for the cost of ur bike.

Gilera VXR200(2007-2009)

Kawasaki KRR150(2009-2009)

okok different terms/definitions used. 3rd party as we all know is covers 3rd party only.

2nd party/ TPFT is the same thing.

TPFT covers 3rd party + accident in event of fire to ur bike or bike stolen.

1st party/comprehensive insurance coverage.

basically covers everything. from ur missing exhaust to missing mirrors

every single thing on ur bike is covered.

and ofc more pricey. usually ppl stop at 2nd party/ TPFT.

ducati bikes require 1st party insurance

First party does not cover everything... there is an excess clause.

Some insurance companies give an excess clause of up to $2000. You got to read the contract.

Meaning... you crash your bike on your own trying to do wheelies or endos and the damage comes up to $2500... you pay the first $2000 and the insurance company will pay the $500 excess. If it happens to be just $2K worth of damage... you lan lan pay and the insurance company says thank you for letting us suck your money for nothing.

You can put Ducatis and RSVs on Third Party insurance even if you want to... its your loss if the bike gets stolen... Ducati would be more than happy to sell you another bike and the insurance company will be more than willing to insure the bike again.

If your bike is on hire purchase... most of the shops will want you insure 1st Party or 2nd Party. You can never ask for Third Party coz they want you to cover the bike so that if the bike gets stolen while your payments have not finished... the shop can still ask for your claim to cover their loss.

Dun anyhow say Ducati bikes require 1st party insurance... get your facts right.

My DRZ with $10K worth of mods require 1st party insurance yet I never do it.

sorry if i didnt get my facts right, but i got e' idea that new ducati or even 2nd hand ducati(under loan from Minerva) has to be insured under 1st party insurance from a sm.sg rider riding a 796, he mentioned its a MUST (in bold) to get first party. Assuming that he owns the duc, i didn't think abt it back then that it may not be true/false info.

and also from a thread in the garage sales abt a guy selling his duc, mentioning that new owners must have 1st party.

so now im confused by ur words... which is which? care to elaborate, sir?

I say again... if your bike is under hire purchase aka loan... the shop will want (read as insist) that you take first party or at least TPFT. This is not to cover you... its to cover them... so that when you lose the bike or burn it... they can recoup some of the money from you for the bike.

Look at it this way... you put $5k down for a Ducati... then it gets stolen the very night you take it home and your insurance is Third Party. You cannot claim anything at all... so the insurance company is happy as hell... but not Ducati. They got to start worrying if you are going to default on your loan. You don't pay the monthly instalments... they cannot repossess your bike coz you do not have the bike anymore. From here... things will just get uglier between you and the bike shop.

Yesterday while ridding suddenly my bike engine stall in the middle of the road (while ridding the engine suddenly stop)...lucky there wasnt any vehilce....At first i thought there could be no more fuel as such i quickly turn to reserve. Today went to pump the fuel and found out that there is still enough for me to ride on more before turning to reserve....Just like to check with the senior rider out there. Is there anything like "engine cut" same as Honda Super 4 in DRZ...cos i travelling in a very high speed (about 125km) and high rpm from starting of TPE (CTE) all the way to Punggol exit. (testing the bike)....pls advise tks :)
