Wah!! quite expensive leh!!.... to respray one layer of metallic paint plus touching up all the dents on a car... will cost only $500 leh!!

Wha... use nippon paint and a painbush one ahhh....

 

Car needs special oven for paintjob, need professional setup, plus the paint cost already exceed $500... Car paintjobs are easily several K....

I know of this racer .. Ah Khoon... He sprays bikes too. Paintwerk is very good and quite reasonable price. His place is in Loyang Offshore Supply base. Very difficult to explain how to go to his place .. alot of turns and junctions. But if anyone interested, I can bring u there.

Depends lah ... he see hte condition of ur current tank and fairing and see what design u want. If u see my RZ350LC in this classifieds, he only charged me $200. Very reasonable. Actually u dun need to remove the old paint. Just remove the laquer will do but if u can remove the old paint, so much the better. U can use paint remover on the tank 'cos the tank is metal and the paint remover won't spoil the tank. A word of caution for spraying tank. The normal lacquer is not fuel proof. So if petrol or brake fluid gets contact with the tank, make sure u wipe it very fast or else ur paintwork is gone.

 

For how many layers u need to spray, it depends. More thin layers is better than few thick layers. So u can spray let's say 3 or 4 or maybe 5 thin layers followed by a few layers of lacquer.

No problem ... I've been doing spray painting works recently and happen to discover the fact the hard way. Just resprayed the belly pan for my LC tong and then went to bleed my front brakes. The mechanic did not do a good job till the brake fluid overflowed from the master cylinder at the handle and the fluid flowed to my belly pan. WAh .. a while only and when I wiped the brake fluid, saw the undercoat already. Damn angry sial.

In my opinion.... it's just a myth.... if they like your colour... they like your colour... who cares original or not.... Btw.. i found a place near Tampines... respray for a typical bike... is $240 but must leave bike for 10days... that includes touching up of your dents etc.... best so far i've heard...
