generally ver s fuel consumption better. comes with brembo brake caliper. you can go read s4 threads for more info.

If there is newer Ver S or Ver S is sold along side with the Vtecs...I would suggest Ver S.....

Too bad most Ver S are shagged....

Ver S has better fuel consumption and develop same bhp as Vtecs.....

Well really depend on your budget....

Ver S is coming to 8-10 yrs already.

The earliest Vtec maybe 7-8 years.

What is your budget exactly?

These older bikes will generally have more wear and tear.

I rode a Ver S for 2 years and the FC is very good. About 25km/L.

The usual issues like rectifier and battery is common among S4, I suppose.

Other than this, nice bike for a commuter.

Btw, if you can get a good condition Ver S, 50th Anniversay version, jump for joy!

If you intend to ride 2A for a while and $$$ is ok to you, of course get a new S4.

I very much prefer the half fairing version, the S4 Bol' Dor.

The fairing deflects some of the windblast and there are 2 handy compartments in it, one of which is lockable. Good for putting spare change, cashcard, and assorted items.

Looks nicer to me too.

i would say go for vtec.. VS already quite old.. actualli spec1 oso.. so if u realli getting 1.. get 1 that has been thru overhaul otherwise for its age.. ya inviting trouble... generally i feel vtec models are more fun at the lower rev compared to VS.. thou u suffer on consumption like the rest mentioned..

finally some1 confirmed with me about the 2 compartments.. i saw a boldor beside me at a traffic light sometime back then i saw that there's a keyhole at the fairing.. i assumed that its a compartment but nv asked or search online before. dammit, how good if i can fit that fairing to my spec 1..

Firstly bro, what is your budjet for super4? for eg 5k otr.. so that means no vtec bikes..

2. u want it to have fuel economy?

3. u want to have any valve system? coz ver s doesnt have. it just take a few seconds before it ride hards. unlike vtec, at certain rpm the valve is already open. but if u talking bout vtec and non vtec, bout will reach the same destination only at a slight timing.

im riding a ver s anyway.. problem wise, nt dat bad yet. just normal wear and tear. 10 years old bike already mah.

Im loving every moment with my LV.

I suggest Spec 1 over Ver. S ....

5k can get la... i saw one in forum, 5k + with full system... well, its not OTR though... just the bike...

Anyways, i love my bike!! ^_^

I actually thought of buying a Bol'Dor some years back, because this versions looks so much nicer. And the 2 compartments makes riding life abit better.

In the end, bought a ah peh Ver S. Never really like naked Super 4s, but it's a good choice as a commuter. Parts very easy to get.

Btw, you cannot retrofit the half fairing on any naked S4. :)

on the comparison of vtec1 and spec2/3....

can we say vtec1 is more driveable/economical in local speed limits (due to higher vtec rpm on vtec)?

assuming vtec1 = 7500rpm

spec2/3 = 6500rpm...
