1 year, 1 month and 12 days...

Finally rode my RS250 home from the workshop yesterday. Lovely!

Hoping to go to PG in May...

Anyone here able to give some advice on what preparation I need to do to the little beast to ensure I don't cook the engine while there?

:p

for a while there i though u sold off your rs250 already.

Well there is not much to prepare. If your bike setting is all stock then just prep all your gears for track. Nothing needs to be done to your bike. perhaps pre mix a bit of 2T into your tank before the session starts. Happy riding.

Nah, not sold. Just sitting there waiting for the mech to find some time to work on it. Was a long, frustrating wait.

My riding gear has been sitting in my store room since Jan last year getting mouldy... I pulled it out on the weekend and hung it out in the sun. Could probably do with a new helmet or atleast inner linings but apart from that I'm good to go.

:p

Yep, totally stock bike. How much 2T would you recommend adding to a tank full of gas?

for me i run my 2t pump quite lean on road so i add 100ml 2t into a 19 litre fuel tank. hope it helps. So i guess u will be at the trackday this sunday?

Ah ok... thanks. I don't even know how to adjust the settings on the pump.

Gonna leave it as is for now.

Basically I just want to ride it for a while before I take it to the track. The bike has been sitting stationary for over 2 years so I wanna see what starts to fall apart after a few rides. Who knows what will happen. For now it's just a couple of rides a week to ease it back into life. It's like a coma victim. :giddy:

Once I'm confident it's all ok then I'll be going for a Sat morning session some time in May.

Was your choke pulled when you twisted the throttle?

Wow... 4 to 5 years is a long time.:thumb:

I'm hoping that my RS250 will last me as a track bike for quite some time to come.

:cheeky:

Can't make it this weekend. But I'll check in with you before the next session.

Will certainly be helpful to have your knowledge and expertise handy when I finally do get the bike over there. :help:
