hey guys. i've been riding the rs125 for quite a few month and i decided to mod my bike. I have a lot of questions in mind so maybe some laojiao can point me to the right direction.. anyway my bike is full stock except for the arrow titanium exhaust.

1.) what's the difference between a dual curve CDI and the remapable ones. plus does racewerks do remapping of CDI?

2.) i'm changing my carb from 28mm to 34mm carb. so should i change the main jet to 6mm also or it's already in there?

3.) i'm getting a V-Force-3 reed valve. and i'm wondering should i cut up the manifold in order to fit the reed valve plus do i need to change the power valve cable too?

4.) Dellorto 34mm Round slide or flat slide, which is better?

5.) Mitaka or Wiseco piston. which one has more performance?

6.) standard aprilia clutch plate has better performance den mitaka or it is the same?

i'm sorry for asking so much question but i had to before i start importing parts in.

i'm terribly sorry if it annoys you. CHEERS BRO.

never say NO to cornering

I ve run on wiseco piston n oso the standard aprilia clutch plate..both have served me well..bt noting beats the oem aprilia piston..n regarding carbs..i ll post a link..

Just got my 2B license very interested in getting a rs125 however some questions in mind..

1) 2stroke bike is it troublesome to mantain since u have to top up the 2T oil everytime? difference between r4 and rs125?

2) maintenance wise is it really expensive to maintain? (using for normal usage like travelling only)

3)Insurance wise? i am 23 yrs old have 2 yrs class 3 license but just passed my 2B only so how much will it roughly cost?

4) how much do i have to fork out for a 2nd hand aprilla bike roughly? Installments or full payment recommended? How much monthly do u guys fork out for this bike?

5)last but not least, how old u guys were before purchasing your own private bike?

Hi @the reporter, congratulation on passing your Class 2B license.. Here's some opinions that I have for your questions..

1) 2stroke bike is it troublesome to mantain since u have to top up the 2T oil everytime? difference between r4 and rs125?

ans - Nope, just like topping up petrol in addition you just have to top up 2T.. I'm supposed R4 is RS4 right..? Difference is 2-stroke and 4-stroke, both have their pros and cons.. End of the day it's what you want from a bike.. Do your research properply before commiting for one, lots of specs can be found in SBF..

2) maintenance wise is it really expensive to maintain? (using for normal usage like travelling only)

ans - Maintenance wise not expensive, it's just like any other bikes.. Change gear oil and spark plug, wash carb and power-valve, all DIY-able.. It's the parts that can be abit pricey compared to Japanese 2B bikes..

3)Insurance wise? i am 23 yrs old have 2 yrs class 3 license but just passed my 2B only so how much will it roughly cost?

ans - Insurance doesn't matter if you had your Class 3 for 2 years, you're still a P Plate.. Just like me with my Class 3, I'm still a P Plate even though I had Class 2B/2A for 3 years or so.. Well, when I bought my RS125 I was a 22years old P Plater.. Was quoted $1.4k for TPFT.. So probably, yours might be slightly cheaper cause you're older..?

4) how much do i have to fork out for a 2nd hand aprilla bike roughly? Installments or full payment recommended? How much monthly do u guys fork out for this bike?

ans - 2nd hand Aprilia bike is which bike..? RS125 and RS4 has different price range, buying from shops and forum also has different price range.. If you're asking about installments of full-payment, I would say full-payment if you have the cash.. Can safe from the ever so high shop interests.. How much I fork out monthly for the bike, I can't advice..

5)last but not least, how old u guys were before purchasing your own private bike?

ans - I was 22years old..

Hope all this helps..! Cheers..!

Yup, Aprilia have 2 main clubs in SG. We used to hang out in SBF until it was decided to shift to Facebook as it was way more convenient.

Ouh.. Too bad for me then.. I don't have Facebook.. Haha..!

Just got my 2B license very interested in getting a rs125 however some questions in mind..

1) 2stroke bike is it troublesome to mantain since u have to top up the 2T oil everytime? difference between r4 and rs125? - depend how much much you travel daily. if you are not going to premix, it should be troublesome as the latest RS125 have a 2T reservoir under the seat

2) maintenance wise is it really expensive to maintain? (using for normal usage like travelling only) - 2stroke will be slightly more, $10-$20 more i guess?

3)Insurance wise? i am 23 yrs old have 2 yrs class 3 license but just passed my 2B only so how much will it roughly cost? - i'm 25yr old this year with 5yrs class 3 exp, just pass my 2B with 0%NCP and was quoted around $1400 by NTUC

4) how much do i have to fork out for a 2nd hand aprilla bike roughly? Installments or full payment recommended? How much monthly do u guys fork out for this bike? - can check around forum and Bike Mart. Brand new OTR should be around $14k?

5)last but not least, how old u guys were before purchasing your own private bike? - just got mine this yea :D

there you go!!

hi guys, my 2011 rs125 FC around 18km/l, is it normal? i did change my crab to a slightly bigger one and is tune to "sports/track"

You should change to a proper carburetor. Big crab cannot use.

I've encountered this problem countless of times, asked the mechanic and more often than not it is just a problem with the connectivity of the wiring of the thermo. Am still having that problem now but still riding as usual. But if you want to be on the safe side and to have an ease of mind you can drop by a bike shop and ask a mechanic. Trying going sporting motors? :p
