if ya changed to arrow, definitely ya gotta rejet.. bigger or smaller and differences.. leaner will have more power but ya lose out on ya top end.. bigger jet will have betta top end but ya mid and low end will be a little sluggish.. the best advice is to strike a balance.. i don't if that is the case. anyone just correct me if i'm wrong..

if ya changing ya carb from 28 to 34.. ya jet wil be at least a 148.. meaning drink more petrol lah.. hahah

anyway, i'm currently using a Shark pipe with 34mm carb 148 jet.. my FC is ard 21km/l which is the best i have achieved so far..

i'm selling my carb.. pm me if ya interested..

hmm.. shark pipe? how's it like? got pic? coz i never hear or see b4 for aprilia. and is it legal or wat?

btw u using a 34mm carb and FC is 21km? is it per litre or per dollar? tts

EXCELLENT FC man! my 28mm carb could only give me 20km for a dollar.

and u can also use arrow on stock jettings. just tt u dun get the maximised performance la. if u change pipes regularly then i think dun bother too much abt the jettings. but if u keep to the arrows then shld consider rejetting.

Hi muser,

Wont be changing my tires yet. Somehow they got grippier after I rode them hard....

Owe you some moonies and a set of Unil-Opal stickers....

Hi Ben and Galen,

Since we're all going to Ideal this Sat, you guys wanna try out the Unil-Opal gear oil and coolant? I'll be changing mine too.

To all,

Anyone else interested to try out Unil-Opal 2T, coolant, and gear oil, pls call me. The prices i'm giving to everyone here are promotional. They may fluctuate depending on the Euro. To date, my profit margins are almost negligible after factoring in the currency conversion and shipping. The prices may rise in future, but as of now, I'm keeping them level for you guys, and most prob will keep them the same for those who support me now.

Oh yeah, if you buy any 3 bottles of Unil-Opal products you'll get a pair of Unil-Opal stickers too!

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

U can try Race Werks at Alexandra Village (Bukit Merah). The mech, William (formerly Eugene Tan Sports), did servicing for some old AOC guys like Ah Tee, Hunter, Gucci, and me... to name a few.

He's honest and won't chop you. I was there recently and he has some RS250s in the shop too.

He's located in Alexandra Village... same row as Leong Seng, Southern Motors, Pang Scooter.... but all the way IN to the end. Last shop. Opens till 9pm... or later sometimes.

Call William at 90618554 n tell him 'Rudy' recommended him. He's a patient guy. But he's the solo mechanic there. He might need to order or check his stock of parts, so call first.

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

william is a good mech....

he did some stuff for me when he was at sin ming....

sending ya bike for a top end rebuild after several k of mileage is just too expensive..

What's a flat spot, and how does it feel like?

Uhmm..its feels like no power or bike choking feeling at a certain band of rpm, hard or harder to accelerate from when inside this "band", until u slip the clutch a lil to get a move on from the higher rev. Haiz, this is the best i can explain in words lor, my ang moh not so gd.. But eyz mention something abt racing CDI can remove it better...interesting..now im wondering whether my bike is worth the investment/s...heh~

the term flat spot actually came from the dyno

for example

http://www.navero.co.uk/rs125zone/images/dyno.jpg

theres a flat spot at 8-8.2 and 9.5 to 10, which means the acceleration stops for a moment at those rpms :(

btw, tis is the dyno of a bike which has arrows installed, which peaks at 10.5 and ends at 11.5

those of u who own arrows should haved xperienced the 9.5 flat spot too :)

p/s: the conception of arrows reving all the way to 13 is wrong. it is only possible if you're in neutral, or your arrows are leaking...

also, the flat spot at 8 can be removed by a simple mod to the rave unit to open the pv at 7.8, (older models do not have the flat spot)

anyway guys, im back again with my DIY nonsense :

this time round , i have managed to install the stebel magnum (one of two horns) successfully onto my replica,

with my limited electrical knowldge plus repeated trips to sim lim tower, until the shop auntie recognise me, i finally got the proper equipment, connctors n wires to fix it all up

tested it to be working perfectly at the car park

will be riding around with it for a few more weeks....before i move on to install the other horn to get a double horn configuration :gun: :gun: :gun:

in the meantime, all those who have bought a stebel magnum horn set but has yet to install it can pm me ur questions or post here and i'll see if i can help

cheers,

Hi Fibre...... think one Stebel is enough.... Chances are .. your Fuse will blow every now an dthen if you load your bike with 2 Stebel. Most of our motor vehicle are designed to 'tahan' normal horn device.

Well..... I suffer this problem even when I load the Stebel onto my car.... So good luck.... be careful.

Hey guys! I'm gonna be taking a look at this 7 yr old RS 125 later. Just need some of your wise input on these issues:

The bike is being sold at $650, but with some items spoilt.

The Items are as follows :

a. Spoilt fuel indicator

b. Lap button spoilt

c. Valve keeps detaching

d. Suspension needs to be less stiff

I'm just wondering whether this one would be a good buy and it'd be cheaper to get these things fixed rather than look at another bike from a dealer / owner that is perfectly fine......

Honda VFR800 (2003)

no problem really, coz i ran another circuit with fuse just for the horn, so even if it blows, only the horns are gonna be affected

cheers

Got your license already ah?

$650 for a 7 year old bike? I would say that is a steal... Maybe even suspiciously so... FP or FQ plate? Replica model right?

First, fuel indicator.. Not impt. Y2K model doesn't even have that. Works perfectly fine. Just take note of how far you travel after each top up, and go pump before it's dry.. Can count one lah...

Lap indicator... Not impt either, unless you going to track.. Or you're one crazy kid who takes timing around the carpark... Hmmm... Gilakia... Ok, maybe impt for you..

Valve keeps detaching??? I have no idea what that means, but that can't be good. At all.

Suspension... Can be adjusted, i think..

All in, $650 is good value.. Think even if you do repairs for the above, still come up to quite cheap..

But are those the only problems? How does the engine feel?
