cheng_xi> on some bikes you need the block as the engine number is stamped in this. Usually 4 stroke bikes. The engine casing is all that's required on a RS125. The term "block" usually refers to the bottom end of an engine in 4 stroke bikes (that houses the crankshaft etc). When I was first told me my block was damaged on my RS125 I sh*t myself thinking I need a FULL rebuild, not just the top end.

My ride for 2012 - Yamaha WR250X 2008

Previous rides:

ROAD/FUN: Honda Sonic, VTR250, Kawa Z1000 & Kawa KSR110, Suzuki Savage

SPORT: Kawa ZXR400, Suzuki SV650, Honda CBR600F3 & CBR929RR, Aprilia RS125 & RS250,

DIRT: Honda XR200 & XR600L, DRZ-400SM, DRZ-400-S, GasGas EC200, KTM 200 EXC & 250EXC-F, Tricker

I've read through the "Breaking in" article, and it focuses on stroke engines. I dunno man, I'm a little skeptical about this method on 2 strokers - piston may jam.....

Well, about the coolant, I'm running in my bike, so I don't really rev very high, 7000rpm tops. I'm just wondering why the bike heats up to 98 degrees after 10 mins of easy riding. Just hope that everything's fine with my baby......

Bike History

Aprilia RS125

SYM GTS 200

Honda VFR800 (2003)

Kawasaki Z900 ABS (2017)

98 degrees after 10 mins!! o_O

You seriously need to have ur cooling system checked dude...i've never even reached 90 on my bike...even in jams at the causeway :giddy:

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Doesnt the author of the article state its for 4-stroke bikes?

yeah.. it's stated for 4 stroke..

that's why i said try at ya own risk.. up to ya own discretion..

there's nothing much difference in 2 and 4 stroke..

cept for the no. of stroke per ignition..

2 stroke being much powerful is being supplemented by 2t oil..

as the article focuses on piston ring..

so if ya gonna try that method, i wud strongly suggest using a good 2t oil..

do not max out ya throttle as suggested by the article, but hold back a little...

warm up ya bike properly..

and the road breaking in is more appropriate.. as the track is too hot..

My usual temp range is in the 70+ when the bike is moving, but leave it stationary for while in a jam, it will climb to 80+.

I just flushed the engine coolant (the usual green one) and use the waterwetter (pink colour liquid) and i find that the my engine gets hotter much faster and much higher during stationary. Not sure if the hot weather recently is causing the temp to hit 80+.

since your bike is reach 90+ easily, better check with race werkz.

I only kenna once when i went to JB, was stuck at woodlands checkpoint

for 30mins and the bike overheated.

I am not a mechanic, I might be wrong. So, please check with others!

Alrighty then, cleared my 2A yesterday (naturally). Paperwork for the bike should be settled by today and it's undergoing a full servicing at pleasure so it'll be ready either today or tomorrow. Wootwootwoot~

You might wanna check with muser and kink on their coolant feedback.

They're using the same coolant as myself, and I find that the temp doesnt rise as quickly as other coolants, especially in jams and at traffic lights.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.
