People, do yourself a favour and never, ever eat at the bluddy cursed char kway teow/hokkien mee/pigs' trotter bee hoon stall at Adam Rd Food Centre. My brain told me to stay clear after observing first the general hygiene of the male stall owner - who looks like he belongs in a swamp - and then confidence-sapping nonsense like constantly dropping used plates on the floor, etc. I food poisoning until jialat jialat; let's just say I'm suffering from both ends. So weak I can't even clutch in my bike. Stay clear. And Lawrence, thanks ah for introducing me to that stall.

I'll probably do just that when I feel better.

Thanks again CMYRS for your offer. I'm quite worried about fit, since even with having Regina's fitting room all to myself on many occasions, it's been a lot of work finding the right sizes for my armoured riding jacket, etc. Plus, I'm not sure how easy it would be to alter kevlar-lined jeans. I think I'll shoot off an email to these people.

It's been quite awhile since I last posted, though, I've been lurking around here quietly. Until I pass my TP which is, not too far away, I'll feel a little shy to hang around with you guys here. I can openly admit I do have the cash to get an Aprilia now - just not the license to ride one.

Anyway, I can't really sleep ( have to leave for work in 2 hours anyway), and well, I thought why not try to design a logo you guys were talking about. It's nothing too fancy or professional, just something I came up with within a couple of minutes:

ArchArrow sounds a little corny ( to me, at least), but I sort of got that idea from ARC and the Arrow exhaust - and well, just tell me what you guys think of it. Criticisms are more than welcome. I think if the fonts of the logo were in red colour, on a black t-shirt, it'd look quite okay. Have some more ideas, but I'll post them here on another day.

This is what I had in mind if we'll ever have a second Italian Bikes Meetup, maybe we could all wear our "Italian Bikes" t-shirt.

I'm up for it if I can get an engine for my bike and get my leathers repaired. Otherwise I guess I can just take the CBR150 again.

we can put the logos and the brandingss..

for example..

brembo(our brakes)

arrow(our dream pipe)

dunlop(preferred rubber)

and if u want..

ur name..

Hi guys....

Been away for a while, but I noticed many new things here!

Well, I have brought up the issue of changing our club name to ARC (Aprilia Rider's Club) in about July last year, mentioned it to Servoprax, but he told me that the Aprilia Owner's Club has been around for a while so no point changing the name. I let the idea rest, but imagine my surprise to see this mentioned again here.

I guess this is pretty parallel to the creative industry I'm familiar with, so I should have seen this coming. A good idea cant be held back, and when it surfaces over and over through different times and by different individuals, it means its time for a change.

So,

I've decided to follow my instincts, and the general concensus here to change the club to name from AOC to ARC.

I have come up with about 15 designs for the namecard and theme.

They will be posted tonight by 2000hrs Singapore Time.

The stickers for our club will also be the same as that on the namecards, and I'm looking at making badges for those of us who have riding jackets. They'll most likely be accompanied with a red or gold lion head as our logo.

*************************************************

Care For Bikes

As for bike shops taking care of our bikes.

Muser and I have agreed that no one else will take care of our bikes the way we do.

Its so hard to find someone who will put all your screws and bolts into a safe, clean place for safekeeping, to handle your fairings like you do to prevent scratching and chipping, to correctly install tyres and balance them with a machine, to wash their hands completely clean before installing clean, new parts on your bikes for instance new grips.

I'm pretty lucky to have found that place... heh heh...

Guess I wont be going to Ideal anymore, except to pick up my MK2 pipe, and fork that I left there.

*************************************************

Draggin Jeans

Right.... Touchy issue.

Everyone hold your horses.

I went to Sporting Motorcycles at Lavender to check it out. Turns out they no longer bring in the jeans because "the guy, Joe, who used to bring them in, quit and now works at Mah".

Right... So I head to Mah, only to find out they dont deal with Draggin Jeans and the Joe fellow isnt around.

Do you know what this means? It means that Draggin Jeans could do with a dealer here in SG.

As of now, I'm typing a letter to Draggin Jeans enquiring about the situation here in SG. They might let us have the dealership instead of those lazy clowns, but if we bring in a large initial order. Roughly SG$15,000 - $30,000 worth of apparel, which I'll front. But then we'll have to worry about clearing the initial stock.

So, until I get a reply from Draggin Jeans USA, muser and I would appreciate it if you guys didnt ask the rest of SBF for their response just yet.

*************************************************

Chris,

I have never recommended you any char kway teow/hokkien mee/pigs' trotter bee hoon stall at Adam Rd Food Centre.

How can I, when I personally have never eaten at any char kway teow/hokkien mee/pigs' trotter bee hoon stall at Adam Rd Food Centre??

I strongly contest against this frivolous and unjustified accusation of me recommending you a poisonous hawker stall.

I do recall recommending you a Hokkien mee stall in the newly renovated Bedok Hawker Centre situated at the other end of Simpang Bedok, which I mentioned looks a lot like Adam Hawker Centre. Right next to the Hokkien mee stall, is also a popular Cheng Tng stall. The Hokkien mee stall is so good, and popular, the queue is at least 8-10 pax long, and the wait is at least 30min.

I hope you get well soon. I will visit if you let me.... (I've got a gas mask)

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

Is this Woodcraft rear race stand way out of everyone's budget? I haven't quite decided how I feel about it. On the one hand, you get what you pay for, and you want something that lasts and that you can trust to support your bike. On the other, just how good do you need your race stand to be? As long as it doesn't break while you're working on your bike, isn't that good enough?

micron stands are worth a look. nice built quality and readily avail in sg. check it out. powdercoated sumore. SGD$180 . lawrence shop has it.
