Looking for another gadget.

a 2 way paging alarm remote starter for bikes.

Used to have a Boomerang one for the car.

Very hand device, lets you know if anyone has touched your car from up to a distance of about nearly 100m in built up areas.

The LCD on the handheld device shows if doors have been forced open, interior temp and if anyone has leaned or farted near your car.

Looking for something like this for the bike as the remotoe starter will be great for starting the bike in the mornings without actually having to go to the bike physically, put the key in and start it.

You can start the bike 5mins before setting off and when you get there, ure ready to go.

Of course there are security measures, such as if gear is engaged without the key, the engine cuts off.

The alarm also works for cooling off, like a turbo timer.

The bike will shut off at your prescribed time frame.

Anyone knows of such a device for bikes?

pray tat no one step on ya clutch before ya start ya bike..

if not ya'll be crying seein ya bike running forward while trying to start it..

haha

I noticed the RS doesnt use much 2T, prob around 1L for about 1800km

Is this normal?

Hey guys, i've changed my rear sprockets from 17-39 to 16-43, Acceleration is pretty good but alas my top end speed is reduced. I can't tell how much because my speedo is spoilt, but i'll ask someone to help me check. Will update how much top end speed it reduces

Always be prepared.

2T causing a Vespa to seize?

Was the adjustment off?

Was the bike new?

Wonder how fully syn 2T can cause it to jam.

Can't help it. Just imagine Britney holding that mic...

Anyway, I'll consider a Penske too once my stock susp bites the dust. But I'll take one with a remote reservoir. My exhaust is so hot that the piggyback reservoir configuration on my stock shock fades very fast.

As for the settings, I'll live with the standard preload, comp and rebound damping.

For your susp now, t most impt setting now is preload. Once u get it right, the battle is half won.

hello, I'm the new owner of the Shell Advance design RS250 in the forum.

But I don't really like the design, although some of you may like it. Want to respray but kinda wasted as the paint is still in very good condition (and so is the fairing, no scratches at all).

Thus any RS250 rider wanna exchange with me? pic as below:

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forum/index....post&id=1839252

Also, the manual at http://www.serviceaprilia.com do not have 1997 model english version. Anybody has that?

Finally, what other after market rear shocks are there for RS250? WP? Ohlins? Bitubo? Where to find WP? My friend is highly recommending his bitubo, which is pretty ex...

Tks!

If the RS is not ridden and only warmed up every couple of days, 2 things will happen.

1. Your batt will get noticeably weaker. The manual I believe states the alternator only full recharges the batt at above 4000rpm. Unless you warm up and keep the revs up stationary(which I highly do not recommend you do), the batt will go dead within that period or so.

2. Your spark plug will start to foul. Low revs and excessive idling will lead to collection of fuel in the chamber, fouling of spark plug.

I suggest you ride it at least 15mins every couple of days to keep it in shape.

OR disconnect the batt or remove the appropriate fuse.

ride i oso wan ride leh =( but den bo lic till tp on 23rd sobs! if i were to replace battery how much would it costs n how many spark plugs does an rs 125 require

so nth will actually happen to the valves?

meaning if i were to start riding it generally juz check the batteries, spark plugs, tire pressure n off i go?

I went thru what u are going thru now except my duration was longer.

Had the bike for 2 mths before getting my licence.

Warmed it up every few days.

Eventually, the batt gave up.

It gave a reading but it was too weak to even push start.

Replaced the batt but constant warm ups, lack of higher revs caused

flooding of the chamber, fouling the plugs.

The RS is no V8, so 1 plug will suffice.

I suggest removing appropriate fuses/disconnecting batt.

Its proven to be the best method for long duration storage.

simple problem for laying off.......

1) disconnect ur fuel line

2) let the bike run till no fuel(dry carb) , u will suddenly notice the rpm goes up then engine die

3) disconnect batt(tie and label the wires)

to run again...

1) on fuel

2) reconect batt

3) give a few twist of throttle before trying to start

4) voila... bike ok liao...

i lay off 2 mths , and on the first crank , engine roar to life

:cheeky: :cheeky: :cheeky:

_wacko_ , eyz, muser,

Thank you all for your compliments.

Lawrence,

That's quite some decent designs you had there - and like eyz and muser, I do prefer the second design rather than the first.

Told you guys I had more ideas, and would post them in a couple of days - so, as promised - here they are ( lights, camera and...action!) :

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/long_john/lionlogo2.jpg

05' RS125 fairing design as the background.

MS Lionheads are added here in this design - call me Lawrence's copycat if you will.

Enjoy!
