when to change belt? depends on how u ride. normally when people change at 35 000km, the belt still looks ok with slight cracks.

you'll never hear belt rubbing sound. the sound is actually due to the clutch slipping. common for silverwing cos bike too heavy. i've a few friends who always do fast acceleration, never have clutch slip problems.

I am confused ... so is it healthy for the bike to do fast acceleration ??

or the problem is caused by fast acceleration from stationary ??

u must understand how the auto clutch works 1st. bikes whether healthy or not to do fast acceleration? healthy to engine or? bikes no prob de. bikes are build to travel on higher revs.

due to silverwing being quite a heavy machine, the clutch will tend to slip cos bike's rev not high enough for the clutch to grip tightly to pull the load.

I am referring more toward the clutch assembly ...previously I was riding the atlantic 200 , after I changed the clutching bell(housing) I often like to accelerate fast from moving off , then after like 1 month . when i am moving off , I can hear some noise coming out from the back .. so I guess my clutch bell is gone again (scratched). so now I dunnoe if I should accelerate fast or do it slowly then once above 50km/hr then whack the throttle :dot:

maybe follow wat andydy says lo... do wat u deem feels correct. but as i've stated, tested and proven by some is whack from stop will not spoil the clutch pads and clutch bell. but from stop if pick up too slow will slip your clutch.

Update News:

Just came back from the bike shop, after talking to the mechanic. He agree to make good/replace the following things:

1. Right side (H&B) rack.

2. Twin exhaust to knock back to original position.

3. License plate.

4. Front Top fairing.

5. Balancer.

The last important item: sit (alignment out due to impact by car), was told he (mechanic) need to remove whole body work to access the damage.

If fame or cost of repair too high, other partly to discuss other option. Going down this Sat again to check.

Stay tune.

the last is the most important injury... based on your description of the impact, i'm pretty sure the bike's frame aka "bike bone" 车骨 will be misaligned at the swing arm. when a bike sustains such a "critical" damage, it is usually sent for scrap as its not safe, especially at higher speeds. sure, the bike can be repaired and still be ridden as an errant bike, but do expect the misaligned bike not to ride straight and to vibrate at higher speeds... forget about touring on it to cameron or hatyai o_O

yes the damage can be restored, either by changing the whole frame (fastest) or repairing plus realigning it which i heard requires sophisticated machines/jigs with laser markers (sure to cost a lot). a quick check on the Internet found some workshops (overseas) claiming able to restore "damaged" frames. but are there any in sinkapor able to do the restoration job? hmmm... i wonder...

i think if we ask around, most if not all good mechs do not recommend repairing/realigning the frame.

suggest do not let the culprit n her "associates" pressure you into accepting a "lemon" deal, or your bike is as good as gone. you can insist on a 2nd opinion from your own workshop before accepting or rejecting their assessment and proposal.

worst case situation, report and claim... its never too late even after 24hrs. although its going to be more troublesome, its better than ending up with a lemon or unsafe bike.

just my 0.0002 cents

check these out:

http://www.seastarsuperbikes.co.uk/frame_straightening.html

when the part where misalignment is found, they are "bent" into place using powerful hydraulic rams, or re-welded for "big" jobs.

a good example of jig is

2nd Update News:

Just now got a called from the mechanic, he has tripped the sit area. The main fame was OK only one of the long metal bar (support for the sit) dented which can be unscrew & remove. It was sent for repair. Will take a look once it has been repaired & fix back to my bike.
