Fan activate is normal since SW is a full fairing bike; so long as temp indicator doesn't go pass 3 bars. Knocking sound not normal. Usually bros here will service transmission every 5k. Maybe go do so.

Might be bearings...better open up and check..If they tear apart inside the transmission then good luck..Fan kick in is ok..My fan also always kick in during traffic jams..

ACM the usual shop...I over shot the mileage by 7000km...Belt in bad condition...Rollers and clips ok...Better do a 3 in 1 servicing...Change your coolant and radiator cap as well to have a piece of mind...

Yes, need to put on mainstand. to make easier, can use a socket wrench to extend longer for better leverage.

Watched Hobbit at Bukit Indah. Nice show. Must wait for part 2...

For those who wanna fight real dirty, go watch Jack Reacher.

Also tried the massage just across the road from the bike parking (at the T-junction).

Not bad. Got nicer mei mei than Reborn.

Btw, around the area (just behind the block) also got 1 bike repair shop and 1 bike/car wash shop.

If Unique got ready stock, just install there bah. Motoworld don't carry ready stock, but you still can try your luck, else you need to wait at least 1-3 mths shipment. I did it there and wait abt 2-3 mths shipment. If the price still S$280, then same as Motoworld charged me 2 yrs back. It a steal liao :p

N/A (Current)

Honda Silverwing FJS 400cc (Yr2010 - Yr2012)

i see, as i was considering to ship in myself from usa. Not sure adding shipping charge and installation from ah chong will it be much cheaper or a little cheaper only.

As i saw an online web from usa selling $139 US dollars for the set of hyperpro spring.

most of us change the settings without using any tool... bare hands will do for 1-2-3 job:

(1) put bike on main stand, make sure engine is OFF

(2) hold the turn-collar firmly with both hand and turn it in the desired direction, make sure both the collar and hands are not oily/greasy

(3) whoala :p

Me just purchase an 2008 SW, bring out from shop, happily go home with my new ride, when parking, i notice a loud knocking sound came

from the CVT area, is it normal guys, and the engine fan is also activate... very worried here.. switch off engine, waited for 10 mins turn on the engine still got knocking sound, but the fan is deactivated already..

any kind soul can help...

first and foremost, welcome to the SW community... and HOM club if you later decide to join us

regarding the knocking sound, you have to identify how it really sound like cos different sound means different possibilities.

e.g. put bike on main stand and let engine run at idle...

... if "ceet ceet " sound from rear wheel area (clutch zone), there's a possibility that clutch pads are touching the clutch bell even at idling, the clutch assembly need servicing.

... if "garak garak" sound from the rear wheel area (final transmission), especially when you rotate the rear wheel in reverse direction, there's a possibility that final drive gears or bearings may be worn and needs replacement.

... if distinct "kok kok" sound, then i'd say spend some money (abt $25~$30) and tow your ride straight to workshop, there's a possibility that something might be broken inside. ride to workshop also can, but risk further damage to the affected parts lor.

the regulars here have compiles a useful SW Tech thread for reference, and i'ld strongly recommend you take a peek at it.

you'ld be surprised just how many of your queries as a new SWinger are answered there...

Yep, switched to NC700XD but need to wait another 2 months. Want to explore DCT. Actually wanted the Integra but turns out it has lesser useable storage than the NC700S/X.

I'm still in HOnda Motorcycle (HOM) Club btw  Let's not corrupt the minds of the innocents.
