hi, just to enquire,

 

today when i tried to ignition my bike, it doesn't start up. Usually when we press the button we can hear the engine being 'kick' and start it, but i can only hear the 'zhennnnnnnnn' sound. what's that? follow that i saw the battery level drop to 10.3 without light on.

 

and also, when you guys normally travel, how much voltage will it shown on the meter? mine, also recently, the number keep jumping in the range of 13.2 - 13.9, randomly when i riding. last time use to be 14.2 constraint.

 

is it the battery problem? when do i know i have to charge it? or is it something wrong witht the spark plug?? please advise! thanks..

how much do we usually use for X9? 5w40? cause at other thread i saw ppl actually say motorbikes should use higher such as 20w50, as motorcycle rpm usually higher compare to cars, so we have to use thicker EO, 5w40, 0w20 usually for cars.

 

i do need to change my engline oil very freq. no leak or something. every 2 months have to top up. but i haven't tried to top up, cause i don't know whether i can just top up like that or do i have to go change the Engine oil.

 

can we mix EO?

 

please advise!

For X9 engine, we normally use 10W40. normally 1L of engine oil is not enough for us. we will need 1.1-1.2L of engine oil(as according to Piaggio Chief Mech) how to know is the oil up the level?

 

Unscrew the oil drip stick and clean it. dip it into the hole(do not screw in) and check the level. It should fall right on the line +/- a little.

Of cos with 1L engine oil will still works but X9 LDR engine is quite a hot engine, I can`t afford to burn the engine.

Normally we don`t top up. Or should we say it won`t need to top up.

the level won`t drop unless somewhere is leaking/engine is comsuming oil.

but seems like EO level will drop. 2 months ago is about 3/4 of the level.. now became 1/4..

 

i don think is leaking. will old engine comsume more EO?

I thought u sold away ur bike? Aniway i said b4, now x9 riders r either those not in sbf or veri old uncles..Plus 1 time got c 1 ang mo ride 2 service center..My workplace there areadi got 4 x9 but we seldom tok..tink next time i c x9 park in carpark, place a note there tell them join sbf dan meetup!! Kick start x9 club!! Viva La Specie Evoluta!!! Huat ah!!!

For city riding, Is better to choose runner/smaller size bike.

For long distance. Chosse a bigger size bike.

Budget and needs. If you need more storage, X9 will be your choice and can be had for under $3K. Check carefully so look before you leap ya...

 

Runner there's old and new so depending on your budget. If storage is what you need, then can forget about runner cos definitely lose out in this aspect and also smaller fuel tank.

 

Depending on the rider, both bikes will have no problem splitting lanes and take corners at Cameron - Mr Seaw can demo the latter for you if you want...

Personally, to save myself the hassle of topping up 2T, I'll go for the 4T version.

 

For runner, 2 stroke version are quite dated liao. And consumption sure not as good as 4 stroke scooter. (Cos I rode 2 stroke runner back in 98 and consumption very scary if you're the throttle happy sort) Of cos power for 2 strokers are better, so you need to see if you wanna trade off consumption for the extra power.

 

Maintenance all almost sama sama, engine & gear oil, belt, rollers and u clip etc Just do you own research before jumping into any shop.

 

Btw, I own both a 2 stroke runner and a X9 amalfi before, so IMHO, I'll stick with the latter. Anyway, ever consider Jap scoot?

Hi all, just change my water pump yesterday. but after changing the temp shoot up than higher before. 2 bars before red.

 

is it normal for new water pump?

Maybe new water is not good! In my country ,they only fill-up..... not exchange

from wat you write, mostly is the batt problem, you can try to get it charge first.
