Only possible if you change out the entire odometer to one that read kph.

Original unit that HL brings in only read mph and cannot toggle to select kph if that is your query.

For the second time my fuel pump giving problems.

Have a late 2009 Tmax bought in July 2011. In my first week noticed bike won't start when hot and left for 30+ min. Will only start again after many hours of cooling down. When I called Hong Leong they told me "known issue, just wait few hours". Not good enough for me so told them to pick me up and fix. Cannot have a bike that won't start. So fuel pump replaced. Only had to pay for labor. At the time (2011) did some searching and found many other with the same problem. Often referred to as Tmax fever. There were recalls in Italy and Japan only.

Now 2.5 years and only 9.000km later SAME ISSUE AGAIN! Very unhappy because Hong Leong replaced my faulty fuel pump with another one that has the same inherent problem.

And this time they wanted me to pay new pump, labor, everything. 350+

Very unhappy with their service. Told them NOT to replace the pump as I never want to have anything to do with them again. Until today had all my service done by them. Even a $1,600 accident repair job! No more. Will find a replacement somewhere else. AC seems to be good...

Will also lodge a complaint with CASE. Doubt that will do anything but still...

hmmm...not bad i managed to dig this post out cos i long time nvr log in liao...

zzz i also encounter this issue recently...very frustrating when u returned home from work at 6pm and the pump does not crank when u wanto go out again at 8pm...

i noticed it will happen when bike hot n fuel level abt half tank n below.

only start when the bike cooled down n temp gauge at default.

twice i thought not enough fuel i pushed to petrol kiosk.

full tank the pump struggled but can finally start...

irritating problem...2011 tmax 500 btw...

btw I haven't change my belt till now. it had already been 26000 KM liao and still going strong . no sign of damage or any funny noise. I intend to change at 30 000km . perhaps maybe my speed usually at 90kmph at kpe tunnel and this could be the reason y my belt so lasting.

u power la bro...

i changed early... manual states vbelt lights up at 12k miles but mine nvr light up at 12k miles...

but i scared so i went to change abt 12.1k miles...1st time ride scooter so better follow manual...

bloody hell only light up at 12500 miles...i should have trust the tmax eu forum guys cos they said 12500 miles...

I also haven't change my v belt yet. Anyone knows the signs of the belt going to spoil? My mileage is around 13k miles liao. Intend to stretch it to 14k miles.

That depends on the bike shop. More and more 530 are on the road now. Someone in my area just bought one and parked next to my almost 3 year old Tmax. The red lines on the tires are still present. Think he just collected his bike. 👍

Hello everyone, it's almost a month riding my tmax530, i need some tips from the seasoned tmax riders out there,

1) Running in new scooter, any guidelines to follow?

2) Tire pressure? front/rear

3) Service interval , how many kms before eo change? plugs change? belt change? and so on

I am totally new to this whole scooter thing so pardon my ignorance.

Many thanks

Tim

1. It's stated in the manual. Can't really recall.

2. It's stated in the little sticker in the under seat compartment.

3. Again, it's stated in the manual. But since you asked after the first oil change at 1000km, oil changes are every 5000km, plugs every 20'000km and belt change every 20'000km. Your bike will remind you when to change.

If you bought the bike brand new but without the owners manual then your bike shop is a being d*ck.

I went to service my 12.5k at Excel Cycle. Price at $380 with original belt and roller for Tmax 500 09. Took the mech less than 3 hours to settle. U can go there on Sat to service. Look for the Chief mech Ah Ming. Told him referred by Chua.
