Hi milktm, thanks for the response. I'm planning to get a new one, coz I'll probably want to ride it for the next few years.

What other things did you change on your bike?

And one more stupid question: I always carry a piece of cloth with me when I ride, in case of rain or bird ****, with the Rxz, I can stuff it on top of the speedometer, but is there any place to put the cloth on the x1r?

i changed from stock till current one i try to say as many as i can remember of..

box, suspension and brake hose.

u can put the cloth under seat, dun worry! most of us did this!

so presumably ur telling us u have knowledge or experience in this field ?? Am I right to say so ?

TO saintvath U want stable...,u might wna change to bigger width rims.. i feel dats more better then our stock. and the stuff dat milktm mention are good to 4 a start.

Hello guys, sorry here to ask questions again.

I think I'm gonna finally trade in my 8 yr old RXZ for a new X1r, foot peg fell off when I was riding on Saturday, damn dulan.

Besides changing the tyres, what else should I get the bike shop to do for me? Is Battlax the best option or are there other alternatives just as good, (and maybe slightly cheaper?)

I don't need the bike to be very fanciful, just want it to be more stable only, and maybe make it heavier, coz I weigh only 53kg. Are the stock rims good enough, or should I ask for another kind of sport rims?

But this X-1R not as fast as ur RXZ, u might have some hard time adjusting to it. Tyres you can consider are, IRC, Bridgestone BT39, Dunlop TT900, Pirelli City Demon.

Sad to say the bike rather poor against wind resistance, it weight about 100KG only, using sport rim would definitely add some weight to it.

So far from what I understand, if you get X-1R with kick-start only the bike will come with spoke rim. Electric start with kick-start option comes with sport rim. Stock tyre size, front : 60/100 rear : 80/90.

i'm comtemplating to buy a 1st hand yamaha x1r.

i read through this thread a little and found out that for the bike, there's 2 types

1) Kick start + sport rims

2) E-Start + kick start + spoke rims

please correct me if i am wrong.

so assuming if i'm not wrong,

if i buy type 2, (e-start+kick+spokes), can change the rims to sports rims?

i just want to get the the bike with sports rims, with e-start and kick-start.

ps. i know i greedy. haha.

please advice.

my blue x1r was stolen on 21/oct/20009 at around 8pm at pasir ris.
plate FBD 6106 U..chrome racing rootrest..right side miror only..original black sports rim...

Spy 2 way alarm system selling at motoworld @ S$160 + installations!!! a very good alarm, those with electric start can use the remote start function!!!

had the alarm in mind, but short of cash la...

think for a start change to sports rims and battlax. coz dun think can fit tubeless tires onto spoke rims. also, dunlop tt900 same costs as battlax (in sg), so might as well.

personally i feel e start is a plus, definitely can change to sports rims after get estart + kickstart option. only more $ nia.

saintvath: if ur concern is u r too light, dun put too big box or dun overload it, else back heavy when u cornering can feel it sometimes - as in, ur bike's rear is heavy instead of u being the central point in the middle. on the same note, when pillion heavy ppl also can feel it.

yes u can change to sports rim after tat juz onli need $$. some shops i think they does help u take in e-start wif sports rims but u gotta pay xtra $$. but u wont be able to get ur spooky rims back ah. ur choice!

its best u change ur tyres to battlax or dunlop. becoz stock tyres can make u fly and not stop in time. for safety purposes though, if u dun care bout ur safety n u wan speed then use stock tyres. ;D

there's onli GPR atm. u can wait for yoshi. rumor said tat coming in real soon.

oh ya, x1r pillion ppl taller/heavier than u, ur bike will not move straight if u go more than 100. tat's wad i felt everytime. will sway here n there so i always maintain one lane if im pillion ppl. ;D

Yoshimura Tri-Oval or Round cone exhaust system. Saw a couple on the road now... pretty hot stuff.
