I got a question! if i get a gpr from someone n he does not have cert.. then wat is the procedure i should do???

Be cautious, cause the background of the pipe unknown for now. From paper work wise he/she can't prove the pipe belongs to him/her. I not sure if LTA has the records for it?

my swing arm, pipe, coverset headlights n some stuff in side e headlight, tyres,n etc..

ok e ting is i have a 1.85frnt n 2.5rr rims..

so wats e best size 4 tyres using dat kinda rims?.

You using the racing swing arm? Where you purchase all of these items?

Size wise I have no idea, as I'm using the recommended 80/90 & 90/80. OH YES, its Battalax BT-39. :thumb:

hello my people...

wah forum seems to be going hyperdash...

188 reasonable for battlax tyres.. ahboy selling 85bucks per tyre.. need to bargain abit.. coz other bike shop or petrol kiosk selling above than tat.. like 100 to even 120.. nonsense rite... coz every shop tat has bike stuff, surely i kepo2 ask wan eventhough i dont need it.. so tat we can compare..

yss adjustable susupension with hydrogen gas canister.. i bought it for my sp at ahboy the other time (nov 2008) was S$185... my friend riding x1-r change his gantung on (june), the price was $160.. now $150!!! ahboy jb RM320... 2nd hand can get 100 sing but not worth it..

i juz went to ahboy ytd and called the shop juz now.., so watever price i said here is true...

MOK really soory bout the rims man! paisey rabak.. short of cash lah.. even cant fix rextor sia!!! fedup.. hope can change soon.. rite emarkie??? btw mok, actually ur racing boy rims is already wide enough, coz got a big size friend done tat... frnt mudguard needs to change, about rear swingarm, not so sure coz the other time i juz drop my jaw when i saw his huge rear tyres.. its 110/70.. looks cool, but heavy.. not sure if it effects anytink.. but he says its stable.. then u use wat rims now???

I got a question! if i get a gpr from someone n he does not have cert.. then wat is the procedure i should do???

ah boy selling the yss suspension so cheap arh? bro momoki was saying he got it from chong aik at abt $360.

as for the GPR pipe w/o cert, is it street legal or the person lost the cert? if lost the cert, den must ask the person to call Excel or GPR Asia (Peter) to reprint the cert. not sure if they can do the transfer w/o the cert, but i doubt it can be done. after reprinting the cert and done with the transfer, within 14 days must go for inspection.

Yeah I'm planning to change my tyres to battlax and maybe the rear suspension 1st. I'm done with both brakes. Getting Arai Ram 3 helmet too. Oh yeah I won't buy aniting on impulse. I'll be waiting for more feedback and also da price drop. For now safety comes 1st. Very good advice bro!

I will need some advice regarding battlax tyres and YSS suspension. Wat r da recommended sizes for both front n rear tyres? YSS suspensions... Any comments? And one more thing. Wat does a CDI actually do?

Both brakes what did you do? Oversize disc brakes and brake hose?

You can choose YSS or Gazi, but the popular choice would be YSS. But if you can get Ohlins then that's the best, but i doubt they have suspension for x1-r lol. CDI enables your rev range to be higher so you can 'tua' longer each gear. From im riding now stock it's like 1st gear 0-20 can hear the engine stress liao. But after changing CDI, maybe can drag longer? Depends on what CDI too, i heard about the Rextor having good reviews too..

Yo evoscythe,

I've change my front disc brake to Racing Boy oversize disc brake and da rear one with brake hose dat came with my Yamaha racing footrest (correct me if i'm wrong! Still newbie... hehehe...)

I heard YSS having better reviews den Gazi. I'm more confident in YSS. Heard abt Rextor but no idea wat it was initially. Maybe dat in da future. I'm changing my stock tyres to Battlax when i get my pay. I heard most ppl using frnt 80/90 n rr 90/80. Many mechanics told me da stock tyres slippery which is very true. My tyres skidded on wet surface 3 times already. Luckily 4 me i was travelling at very slow speed n didnt fall. Im not sure whether i shud change da rims. Any effects on my bike if battlax tyres goes wif my stock rims?

What shops do u guys recommend i shud go to do all these? Thanks 4 ur advice guys! X1-R FOREVER!!!

The display picture is your current bike?

BT-39 has one problem is that when you bank a little and cross over the white marker (wet surface), you'll lose traction easily usually I'll experience fishtail despite speed is low (wet weather). If you travel as per normal its OK. (personal review) Best you warm up the tyre before ya speed up.

A little article on engine tuning (no secrets, guess most of ya knew about it)

Your bike is first or second hand? Come with stock footrest or racing footrest? During hot weather for eg afternoon 12-2 can play corner with stock tyres, still hot enough to grip the stocks. But cold weather or at night better dont. Cause super slippery. I skidded twice, once in multi-storey carpark.. Kay kiang go twist throttle, but never kena anything. So the lesson is go slowly in MSCP, the floor there if got water you go slowly, super slow. If 20km/h over oil = gg.

You will feel very heavy, but stable. Note that your top speed (if you never tried) will drop as the grip increases, the more power is needed to move your bike. If you want lighter, can get racing boy rims.

It's a 1st hand bike dat comes wif da stock footrest. I changed to racing footrest 2 months ago.

I ever tried top speed ard 120km/h (140km/h downhill along BKE towards wdlds chkpt juz b4 da SLE exit), but very shaky ah. Hmmm... Racing boy rims + battlax tyres = lighter? I think i change da tyres 1st...

currently using Dunlop TT900 tyres. so far no problems for me during wet surface even if i lane split on the white lines (during wet weather). i once felt my rear tyre skid a little while cornering through a filter lane's zebra crossing (white surface). was using IRC Gold Series Road tyres previously on my Wave and I didn't experience any of the problems that Battlax BT-39 & Dunlop TT900 had.

cause battlex is sticky gd gripping and ur fuel will end up finish fast

recommend only to ppl tat change to racing footrest and like to corner beri low

still i will say wat for.....?

u only travel from point A to B

and maybe sometime play abit of corner

but y use such ex Tyre like $180-200?( if u got the extra cash, go ahead )

ppl say it better when wet.. yeah maybe...

but do u ppl alway rush on tha raiing day? or go slow and steady??

ask urself..

every tyre is the same when wet....

ya, but heard that when wet tt900 grip not as good as bt39. and since i dun play corner so much, might as well get a "good grip for wet" tire...

speaking of which, a few days ago i tried to lock my rear tire on purpose, just so to get the feeling so i noe where is the "locking" point. im surprised a change in tire can have such a big difference. i really ZHAM rear brake and the wheel lock only a lil bit, such that i can still control very comfortably.

coz in april i had a self skid using "pui chao nua" thailand tires coz of rear wheel lock on wet road, so i just wanna confirm on the "locking" point again shd i ever need it.

but i did within my campus at night when no traffic la. and of coz, with armor.

PS: not all made in thailand tires not good, but the ones i was using really is "pui chao nua" brand wan. the rubber material so hard, dun skid also miracle, maybe go 20-30kph ok ba..

last i check, tt900 (japan) is same price as bt39 wor - so anybody's choice la?

thank jack
