Hey bros, this is urgent. I'm planning on getting either an X1R or a honda wave S by next week.

 

1. What are the pros and cons of both cubs?

2. 1st hand X1R, any good deals you guys can recommend; any specific dealer?

1: pros for x1R

- more modern

- looks/design

- more things to mod, more pipe to choose frm

- looks bigger than wave

- 135cc = more power by abit than wave

cons

- expensive by alot of times compare to wave, 2nd hand also same

- fc lose to wave by just abit (also depend on your riding style)

- insurance is a killer if u are young with P plate (mine 2nd party 1.7k 19y.o p PLATE)

 

2:As for shops ar, i not that sure but go to reputable motorshop or get frens

who know how to hear engine condition to follow u. liddat more safe.

 

If u got budget! and wan looks get x1R, smooth ride and can make till looks nice nice.

if comparing these 2 bike as transport wave will generally be cheaper

 

no comments on the performance of wave as i haven ridden one yet >.

mayb u can go wave thread post post to ask bout their experience than compare.

 

any bros think i miss out anything please add in or correct me

Wave and x1r cannot compare la. Wave is reali for transport but x1r have transport and outlook!! You gave many things to mod as compare to wave. I dun even know wave has pipe to change ma. Lol. Or even racing footrest?! Good luck choosing!!

 

I buy my x1r first hand from asphoon. As far very good! The price is the lowest as I compare the rest among the shop beside asphoon ( ubi ) de.

 

Wingyap reali super super de exp not the things he sell!!!!!!! Fix brake pump onli Want charge me 40$!!! Move iu 18$!! Lucky I found 8$ de onli! Bth them sia! But I must admit they reali got many many our stuff to buy la! If they do promotion sure earn alot!!

its leovince same as us xD

but instal liao bo hua also, not nice hahaha.

some items realli very exp not worth.

but i move IU free, than fix brake pump i tink he charge me workmanship 10dollar.

actually its like give and take ar, some shops sell damn cheap e.g. ah boy shop

some like wingyap exp but the service definitely better. hahaha

so it all boils down on service, workmanship or cheap.

also there are some that are realli good and cheap ar

thats why i sugguested a meet up sp we can xchange tips easier

can learn more bout places with good service and more about our bikes.

Tell me abt the bloody rain.. Got soak and was wearing half uni.. In the end in changing room.. I was standing at the hand dryer for 15mins trying to dry it..

I am most qualified to answer this as I have rode a wave s b4 and am riding a x1r now...

 

wave pros:

1. cheap machine price

2. cheaper maintenance (no coolant, no oil filter)

3. bigger underseat storage space

4. relek riding, no clutch

5. Only cub able to do 10L tank mod

 

cons:

1. NO power

2. High vibration

3. Looks like ahpek bike (excluding wave x)

 

x1r pros:

1. more powerful

2. alot of mods available

3. comfortable 100km/h cruising

4. Sporty outlooks

 

cons:

1. more expensive to buy

2. no storage space (that tiny little space behind the tank doesn't count )

3. got clutch and coolant to worry about

 

Basically, want practically, no frills riding, relax ride.. go for a wave. Want something more sportier and powerful, go for X1R. They are both good bikes for transportation. Just go for X1R if you want some power + economical. Go for Wave is you want PURE economical.. somemore can do 10L mod. My old wave S can go up to 480km before refueling..

 

Reason I changed to X1R is simple.. just want some power for transportation and I love the looks. Best looking cub kia liao..

Thanks a lot bros! I have done research so I guess I'll be getting the X1R package from HLC cycle (the one with the mods). I rather have some power than no power to get out of sticky situations. Life more important than saving fuel. Somemore my insurance is $900

 

And of course the sporty outlook

 

Anyway bros, when getting a new bike, what are some important things i need to take note of? I have no idea since this is my 1st time and all of my friends are busy tomorrow

jb got. i asked before. but more expensive than spore. 1st shop i asked he quote me 800 rm. 2nd shop close to 500rm. so up to you where u want to buy your coverset.
