Yes... its merely just "sliding" the fork down the fork brace thingy. Anyway, don't down too much. The previous owner of my X1R down it too far, it looked very nice but when you run over a hump.. GG. Don't know what he was thinking. Just down it one inch down from standard.. gives you the freedom of clearance + corner stability..

O-ring or X-ring depends on what chains ur using, not on the bike. But normally I am guessing ur x1r is on o-ring la..

To clean the chain, you can just old EO (i used to even use 2t on my krr) wipe it across the chain slowly. Then rinse off. You can also use a degeaser, just spray and the dirt will come off by themselves then rinse off.

For chain lube, buy a good one. I used to use maxima chainlube from mustafa centre. Now using belray chain lube. Both of them are good..

hi guys, know any bike shop near woodlands where i can get myself a pair of clutch+brake levers?

wdlands not alot of motorbike shops.. can come down to yishun industrial. Go to "tune-in motors", theres a small showroom there with lots of stuff. The boss frequents thailand alot, so u get to see lots of rare stuff there

like wasted lidat sia.. gonna change to 2A soon dunno wanna get that yoshi for x1r or not

If upgrade to 2a, don't waste your money on x1r's yoshi lah. Save the money for a delta if u wanna ride a DRZ or a yoshi firespec if your want to ride an inline 4 bike

I read in other parts of this forum, some ppl suggest to clean the chain with diesel/kerosene, and then spray chain lube on a warm chain (some suggesting motorex chain lube from mah motosports) and leave it to stay for the night. But I'm not sure whther it is for X1-r too.

Anw, thanks man for the info :thumb:

hahaha no real way to prevent the oil from splashing on the rims...the best preventive measure is to not put excessive lube on your chain..

was wondering about the down fork thing cause when i down forked my 125z previously the shop used this drill and sort of made the fork brace hole bigger and pushed the entire fork up to downfork...does this apply for x1r too?

should be can la.. saw a few x1r's with downed forks with braces installed..

That method is very troublesome, no? Somemore diesel/kerosene just smells bad. A degreaser is enough, get those that comes in a can.

Typical motordiam method.. just wipe or spray used oil on the chain. This is not a good method, ur chains are not lubricated at all. Should use chainlube lah, it will stick to the chain and won't fling out. Just put some newspaper and cover the rims when you spray..

my back rim 2.50 hahaha put tire on 110/70

110/70? Whoa, so thick cornering must be shiok?

i super suck at DIY stuff lol.

yup cornering and stability is SHIOK

but also comes with a price, more heavy & top end suffer. (if your bike stock like mine ) :cheeky:

yeah it is troublesome.. i'll try another method. this time i'll use GT85 teflon spray to clean up the chain, then go for a 15min ride around my neighbourhood to warm up the chain, and then lube the chain with maxima chain guard. do u think it is a good idea?

@koyote

motodiam liddat one.they anyhow lube ur chain, so that ur chain spoil u have to buy new chain from them. damn idiots. thats why i'm trying to learn simple diy stuff. the chain is an important part of the bike other than the engine.
