Palary,

The sanding was done on the cap only. The rubber cap was also changed, renewed the brake fluid and then bleed the whole system. There is actually a small bleed hole on the cap, if you look closely. It is a design that is only found on Yamaha's brake reservoirs.

Never change my rubber for me.... :sian:

Just sand my cap only :nono:

Must go back again to double check.

SilverGhost,

The stay Casper was referring to is the metal frame in the front that supports the cowling assembly. It seems that his is slightly bent after the accident, so the cowling is now "forced" to follow the new "shape" of the stay.

As for the 3M reflective tapes, I am sorry, I can't find them. Anyway, you have bought them, but I believe the ones you bought is the bigger sized ones, coz I only paid $8 per yard for mine. Maybe you must have bought the Diamond grade ones, which are very reflective.

As for supper, give me a tinkle or SMS. If I am free, I would be more than happy to meet up for a chat. There is a fair number of us in the Northern area.

Hi Oxygen,

The one I bought is grey colour, I am not sure it is that expensive or not it is the cloth material... I bought that size, able to cover the whole rear of the panniers... with some small pieces I stick it on the sides of the panniers two strips vertically at the diversion words...looks nice.!

It looks like the same material as OMD's.

It look like those TP using on their rear panniers...

You were asking Custom where to buy spot lights?...looks like you are getting the hang of it, to fix spot lights...why don't you get it from the jln Besar just after upper weld rd and before dunlop st opposite the sim lim tower...

For the brake lines there is a shop dealing in all type of (Hell) hoses also along jln besar, the shop name is Vector one, 27 jln besar... opposite sim lim tower...o_O

Grey colour is nice too... but if it is a soft type material maybe can come out easily lor..... have to clean it very carefully!!!!!

I kind of like custom spot light (Hella).... still don't really know where is that place.....custom say near mar ?????

I may need to change the brakehose....I feel something not right with the present one!!!!!!

Here here...

Jus got back from my 14day backpack trip yesterday. In all been to Tioman, KL, Penang, Ko Samui, Bangkok. In all spent less than SGD900 inc.

The pages are moving real fast. Great to see so much activity in this thread. Recently i found another Divvy FV9999 into the gang but i gotta find his hp no 1st.

One more thing, abt the problem on the front brake pump, mine's pretty ok, no signs of leak or anything. Is it easily spotted??

Missed riding my bike, gonna give it a good wash now. Till the next tok c*** session, i'll be back in camp.

Cheers!!

Hi Oxygen,

It is nothing to do with your braking hard or not braking at all....What I come to know about it that this problems...only starts after the replacing of the brake pads..o_O

How? during the replacement(brake pads) by right! the Mech suppose to open the reservoir cap, remove some fluid out after the replacement top up again.............BUT they short cut!!! :nono:

They (mech) removed all the screws which holds or secure the caliper thats ok but when they remove the pads they force back the old pads which push the pistons, which push the brake fluid back to the resevoir...and in some cases they over flow thru the gaps...

After they replace the pads when they need to 'put it back' inbetween the brake disc (rotor) they will force further cause the pads are new and thicker! this force back the fluid further to over flow infact we mostly over sees this part...

When we had this bike new we do not encounter this problem... Do we..?

But in the Europe they don't have this problem....or maybe their Mech's are well trained and use proper tools

THINK there's something wrong with the servers. I've been trying to get into SBF forum for the past 3 days also! any developments on the 29th trip?

Got back my bike liao but seems that the "stay" went out of alignment due to the accident. rattling sound coming from the cowling when i travelling bout 40 - 90 km/h.

have asked HL to book a new "stay" for me...cant stand the sound....dun dare dismantle it myself also cos scarly later cannot fix back as the 'stay' alredi out of alignment. sigh gotta spend $$ again....

Other the s.ghost's fact, I also suspect it is when the brake pads become thinner or air contraction in the reservoir. When the above happens, it causes the diaphragm to collapse down and pulling away the rubber from the sealing edges. Soon some fluid leak out when the bike rocks or, being forced out when the air expands under heat from the sun etc (inside of the housing). I think HL filed down the housing edges, so that the rubber is clamped more tightly.

For this case, those who have brake pads from a few miles ago, should open the reservoir to check the diaphragm once in a while... to reshape.

However, after i changed new brake pads, the leaks stopped. Could be lesser air for expansion and contraction... i guessed

If the sealing isnt good... the rubber diaphragm wont collapse right? :goodluck:
