Hey Guys,

Just some techno Info...about Front and Rear Suspension preload adjustments...if you guys are too lazy to turn your manuals....

For the Front Suspension fork:- Adjust the spring preload as Follows, To Increase the spring preload and thereby harden the suspension. Turn the adjusting bolt on the fork leg in the direction of clockwise.

To decrease the spring preload and thereby to soften the suspension. Turn the adjusting bolt on the fork leg in the direction of anti-clockwise..

There are number of groves on the adjusting bolt the top grove will be number 1 and so towards the lower grove number 7...

Number 7will be the softer setting whereas number 1 will be the hardest.

Adjusting the spring preload on your Rear suspension. To increase the spring preload and thereby harden the suspension, Turn the adjusting ring in the direction of anti-clockwise...

To Decrease the spring preload and thereby Soften the suspension.Turn the adjusting ring in the direction of Clockwise...

There are numbers to indicated on the ring from 1 to 7, Number 1 minimum(soft) whereas the number 7 will be the maximum(hardest)...!

I hope this will help or refresh you guys...

Some Tips...guys

If you guys always travel at a speed above the recommended speed by the LTA,TP,ROV and Road safety counsils pump your tyre to the maximum...

Maximum recommended when tyres are cold, best time to pump in the morning, roads are cold...!

Front tyre 250kpa(2.50bar-kgf/cm3) Rear 290kpa(2.90bar-kgf/cm3)

and especially those weighs above 90kg or those like to carry a pillion on a regular basis...stick to this air pressures...your tyre will last longer means better wear and tear and fully utilized...

O2,

Where do you pump your tyres  is that at shell, mobil or bp what I know most of the old petrol kiosk uses those analogue type air pump meters or the latest digital type if you use the digital type press the reading button to convert into psi or kpa readings...most analogue uses kpa/lbs settings some old analogue meters like at some esso uses lbs/ bar...o_O

So for instance for your front tyre should be pump the maximum of 250kpa convert into other reading it should be 2.50 kg/m2 or bar if convert into PSI it should be 36psi

for 225kpa = to 33 PSI whole life solo rider...front tyre(minimum)

for 250kpa = to 36 PSI whole life solo rider...Rear tyre(minimum)never carry load.

(maximum)36 PSI for front tyre and 42 PSI for Rear tyre for high-speed riding and loaders(pillion) or you weighs above 90kg.!

I hope this can help you,If I am wrong please correct me...

hi guys,

checking some technical details here

Do you all know that our fuel tank is 24 litre inclusive of 5 litre of reserved petrol, so it is only 19 litre + 5 litres of reserved petrol that is when the reserve light is 'ON' there are only about 5 litres left...!

But as for precationary measures I don't think so it is 24 litre there are air pockets on the top of the fuel tank when you pump the petrol up to the brim even after all the shaking/shoving of your bike...:faint:

I guess a 19 litre of petrol you can travel roughly about +/-323km..o_O that is a regular useage of 1 litre can cover about 17km.

So reserve of 5 litres it should be +/- 89 km before your tank drys out...Total coverage we may be able to achieved about +/- 400 km + air pockets inside the petrol tank...:sian:

I usually get abt 215miles b4 reserve n often to 260miles b4 topping up... It works to about 340 and 410 respectively....

Each time abt 21L... Works out to about 19.5km to a liter... Like the fuel returns it has been giving me....

Reserve is around 18.5liter and the maximum i squeezed in was 22.2L with some remaining still but not enuf to reach 23Liters let alone 24L...

Guys,

What say you people we do a 2 days 1 night on the 14th and 15th August? I am seriously looking at that option. Destination wise, I need feedback as to where we should be heading. All I know is we are doing the east coast roads from Mersing onwards.

A friend of mine, some of you have met during the last day ride to PD will be joining us for this upcoming trip.

Any ideas or feedback Diversion riders.................

Jleo,

In my experience with this bike, the petrol reserve light "on" around 189-190miles mark...which I incorperate a buzzer to remind me...and it is quite useful.

How about you guys interested in installing the warning buzzer...very simple wiring need to remove the wind screen and instrument back cover(a cable tigh and a 12v buzzer)..o_O

How  I don't know we still stick to 1 day tour...the next day number of you guys need to go to work.

OMD' the 2days trip we postphone to another time, where we try to get as many Divvy to join for that tour....what sAy YOU! (O2,Cougar,Euro)by then should be coming along..that we plan way ahead so no excuses by then..!

For now we stick on to the one day tour on the 14th August morning leave early and the same day return quite late..:bouncefire:

My reserve light usually come on between 200(320km) to 214miles (342km).

Yesterday at 214miles on the meter, topped up 18.1 litres, which will calculate to 11.9miles/litre (19km/litre.) In the past i use to get abt 20Km/litre

It'll depend on our usual pick up and gear change intervals. Naturally for riders who open trottle between traffic junctions till they reach the full torque or hp of their bikes, may end up consuming more petrol (based on Singapore city riding). Same goes for high speed riding.

Actually the ride to mersing is nice for a one day cruise with some lovely bends, scenery and lots of time for Kopi chit chat - lunch - kopi chit chat! :thirsty: :slurp:

Think jLeo has been to Cherating before... Maybe he can advise on it...

In my opinion, the ride is too long... needs at least 5 hours to get to Cherating... Provided you all dun get stuck in any jams... Route 3 is especially nice, after Rompin... so ride slow and enjoy the sea view and sea breeze...

Coming back, maybe you guys would wanna try the Karak Highway which links Kuantan to KL... heard: nice roads, gd condition, deadly curves...

Hope you guys enjoy the ride... would have tagged along if it was on the 15th...

Hey Casio,

Hey Bro, thanks for the advise/guide much appreciated...:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: coming along..?

Hey Euro

What you mean in the pass you used to get 20km/L now only about 19km/L you really save alot of petrol..! You need to recalibrate you carberrattor or what, or you change your riding style too...mind maybe my riding habit...17km/L used to ride fast...and always warm up for 5mins before any trip...

Palary,

Your after market windscreen is gracing at the top both end of the cowling right.! I used to have that during or when I ride fast. During the ride the wind pressure forces the windscreen back this presses against the cowling...

1) I think it is jleo idea adding rubber washer at the both top end screen fastner(screw) it did help for the OEM windscreen to weed out the noise but for the after market screen the problem do come back..

2) I think I have sorted out this problem I did some filing on my windscreen (file a small gap between the windscreen and the cowling where it graces) just after the two top fastners(screws) so now the windscreen dosen't grace against the top cowling anymore..or under wind pressure during rides...maybe after seeing my bike/screen you will have better idea..!
