Don't waste time........the TDM mirror will hit our windscreen !!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe Bro OMD & Haroze can try it out on the original windscreen.

1 pair $79 w/o gst

Hi Oxygen,

You mean that the TDMs' mirror will hit the screen  how! Now does your(OEM) mirror does it hit the windscreen or not... If it dosen't hit then it should not be a problem have you try it "ON" first..?

As the stem(bar) of the mirror or the mirror itself hits

As for my bike the OEM mirror (stem) does hit the after market screen at first but after adjusting the handle bring it lower just abit solved the problem, then it should not be a problem for me...

One of the day I might go down to HL... maybe thursday afternoon about 1500hrs

I am preparing for the 14th August trip...I hope other divvy riders are doing the same...Sat 0630hrs at ESSO petrol kiosk- 50 woodlands Ave 1.

Oxygen you check the price at HL is it for a pair or 1 set, I check a set cost ($70+) so x 2..

I went to my bike shop they say can get abit cheaper...I paid for a set $68x2 =$136

 look nice on the bike...I already scribble my bike number on it...for that price never take chances.....

Riders,

Yes.........we're all back safely from the day trip. No doubt all were very tired, but I am pretty sure that when they get up from their slumber, they'll say that it was a nice ride.

Trip Report.

Ride commenced a little off the stipulated time, but it was made up for with free breakfast for all. There was also a slight delay due to a punctured front tyre of one of the Diversions, but fortunately, it was spotted and rectified while we are all still in JB. We had a total of 5 bikes (4 Diversions and a STX1300) for the ride.

The ride to Mersing was good with light traffic all the way. The roads along Trunk Road 3 heading towards Mersing has been improved and it gives the riders added confidence when doing the bends and the ups/downs. Unfortunately, all the good roads and the boosted confidence also made the riders go a tad faster than what was planned, and we had a reality check when the MIB (Men in Blue) stopped 2 of the riders for allegedly crossing the double white line. The usual "surcharge", as I called it, was paid, and we're off again enjoying the open road to Mersing, which was the first rest/meal stop.

After a not-so-hearty meal at the local KFC in Mersing, the next leg of the ride, begins. This was the much anticipated leg, doing the coastal road all the way to Kuantan via Rompin and Pekan. Traffic conditions was a bit heavy in the town areas, but once we're out of the towns, the road was for all to go....go....go!!! The road condition was better than the Mersing leg and we had the South China Sea on the right hand side all through out. This was an especially relaxing ride due to the predictable straights and gentle bends that peppered the route. We passed by many schools that had children waving and cheering at us, which kinda made it even nicer. There were encounters with several MIB along the route, but brief hand waves to acknowledge their presence and accord them the "respect" ensured that they would not bother us.

There were several other stops for drinks/ciggies/toilets along the way with plenty of things to see. One thing about riding the east coast roads is, the amount of animals seen is a lot more than when you traverse the west coast or NSH. There were cows, goats, monkeys and even snakes trying to cross the road, so riders have to be a bit more vigilant. We finally rode into Kuantan at about 1600hrs and headed straight for the shopping mall because it was very hot outside, we needed to eat, some needs to use toilets and we wanted to "check things out". Unlike the malls in the west coast (KL or JB for example), the mall we went, which I believe is "the" mall in the area, was a little dodgy. There were plenty of handphone shops and little trinkets shops. Nothing spectacular there. The pasar malam on the hand was very colourful (in my opinion that is). It offers the ambience of a real pasar malam, unlike the ones we find in Singapore. I was fascinated by the varieties of local food available, but was not courageous enough to try (riding and stomachache not a good combination). Did get some local min chiang kueh and some sponge cake for the ride back in case people get hungry (which they did). Due to a thunderstorm which delayed us for a fair bit of time, we only set off for home at 2200hrs.

The ride home was on another Trunk Road because the crowd did not want to back track the route. We chose the No. 12 road which passes through the center part of Malaysia eventually ending at Segamat, before joining the No.1 and head back via the NSH, entering it at Yong Peng and hitting JB Causeway. Now, THIS is a road. It is well maintained, with good markings and fairly straight. There were occasional buses which was encountered along the ride but for the most part, it was 120km/h to 140km/h in the middle of the night, in the middle of Malaysia. If the day ride was shiok, this is shiok multiplied by 2. Made a stop along the route for the night snack and some "throw water" sessions, plus a chance for the folks to stretch and freshen up.

It was all nice and good on the No.12, then we hit No.1. Bear in mind it was about 0130hrs at the time, and we were blessed with half f**ked built roads with no markings on certain stretches. Some part was not even paved with bitumen!!!! Thank goodness it was only for about 45 minutes before we joined the NSH and head back to JB for the compulsory full tank and finally back home, which was at around 0400hrs.

Overall, I find this to be one of the better rides I have been due to the ease of the route. Apart from the delays, it was quite a fun and relaxing ride. Everyone played their part in making the ride a pleasant and safe one, and that's what touring rides are all about.

Guys,

Comments about the ride it was wonderfull, those who cannot make it they may regret :weep: , but there are always next time but again it won't be the same. Not all trips' will or can create the same feeling/experience/atmosphere.

For Casper I must give him a thumbs up :thumb: why? it is his maden trip(touring) and with a pillion, you need some courage to bring along a pillion...normally riders won't do that they always go solo to gain some knowledge...before pillioning.

Guys I may regret about removing the spot light but for yesterday trip, I may reconsider. As for the route no.1 most part of the road were u/c some part of the road we need to slow down because of unmark lanes, road repairs are still in progress and we maintain between 80 to 110km/h..

Lucky for our bikes have a reasonable windscreen which blocks most of the flying gravels which throw-back by the front bikes' tyre..

There will be a trip coming up either on October or November 2/3 days 1/2 nights so guys I think you divvy people must prepare.

Hi Divvy brothers....

Hi Silverghost......about the up-coming ride on October/November...I think I'm the 1st one you can count me out. This is bcoz I'm glued for the coming motogp in Sepang on 8,9 and 10th oct. Can never miss this world even at our door step....provided all the divvy brothers would make this one for the trip....3days 2 nite...maybe a stay at Port Dickson, away from KL. The cost of the ticket is damn bloody cheap...@ about $48/- it covers 3 days:-Friday...free practice and qualifying...Saturday... free practice and final qualifying and Sunday.... the race day.For the sitting arrangement it will be at the grandstand which ever your viewing is more pleased...

Hey S/ghost maybe ....... or, why not organize this trip...?What say the rest...?We got less than 2 month to go...! So, when is the next meet-up....

By the way,I'm happy to hear that the trip to Mersing was a good one and everybody is well...!

Well I must admit that we had great deal of fun all along the way.

Thanks to all who went for the trip and made it enjoyable....though i personally felt that it was a bit rush...and road 1 sucks! No lane markings no lights.... road works all over the place making it bumpy and sandy...nvr going to ride thru this road again!

And thanks for looking after a more inexperienced kaki...esp bro silverghost who kept being the rear marker...it made the ride really 'safe' knowing that someone is always behind u just in case something goes wrong.

Looking forward to oct/nov. 2D/3N should be more relaxed... :cheer:

Hey Oxygen,

I bet you regret missing this trip  ,well for the spot light I may "reconsider" it. I will try to use the pass light wirings...and may need to cut a hole on the faring(cowling) for the 2way switch.. switching either the spot lights or high beam/pass light...

For the trip on Oct/Nov 'Haroze' we (divvy kaki's) meat up - for a Tock Co** Sex'sion...plan out the up coming trip.

I hope those kaki's who do not have a proper riding gears etc, etc: ...please consider about it,

Now is your time...You guys have roughly about 2+/- months to get it...
