Have you guys seen the pictures? Those of you who missed the ride, the pictures only convey part of what we had during the ride. Say no more...........next ride will be organised soon.

It would be more prudent if you reduce the size of the photos that you took with your camera. A more realistic 640 by 480 would be better for uploading and also for those who are on dialup service to view without them running out of patience.

Fully agree with you about the safety gear. The investment is painful to the pockets initially, but having your skin removed by the road surface is definitely more painful.

 

As for the Oct/Nov ride, it would be a little difficult for me. Got reservist plus it would be the fasting month. A bit "leceh" to go for rides.

 

I am looking at more rides soon. If anyone is keen, just holler.

I have a better Idea, Those people have things like serving the nation, fasting, family holidays, exams and cannot get a leave...!

Please update during the tock co*k sex'sion, update your diary so those of you who have something during on those dates/months. We can schedule accordingly trying to avoid all the appointments you people have...So all of us can go:cheer:

Okie okie but my touring equipments are always X 2,so gotta look around for more worthwhile deals. Went to a shop near ah boy earlier .... saw a clover airtek 1780 selling @ S$350 .... design nice but a bit pricy.

Riding gear is always a good investment.. Regardless of brand or design, Jackets, pants and boots all play an important part in touring. though it may not protect you completely but it also keeps you warm and dry from rain or nite riding...!

For those who cant affort to purchase all at one time, here is a suggestion... Buy one at a time or get 2nd hand. You may get a good buy too!

 

example:

Riding Jacket + Rain pants + common boots.

Rain top + bottom + Riding boots.

Rain top + Riding Pants + common boots.

(Common boots: Timberland, Kings, SAF, etc. some combinations may look really good too...)

 

JulianT, AP again??? I have not heard abt it.. i already dont cost much..

I'm up for a ride anytime from now till end aug as i'm clearing leave. Be it weekday or weekend, only constraint is to be 1 day... 2 days the max...

 

Think its better if u suggest a date instead of me as i'm free...

 

Unless i got a job interview on that day, otherwise i'm 'ON' for it...

Buy one at a time, Nobody ask you to buy at a go... unless you have the cash or strike lottery it is a different story. I bought one at a time..!

 

When you have enough money make it a priority to get a jacket first...you already have 2 FF helmets(+pillion) thats good, boots semi high or 3/4 will do... Euro already suggest some boots...

 

What I know palary have few riding jackets ask him whether he wanted to let go any one for a good price..! Get two jackets those expen$ive(very good quality) wants for tourings those lower quality ones for local use..and don't forget a proper fitting glove get a good quality ones soft and at the same time tough.You saw me using my glove that is my everyday gloves (alphinestar $125) the more you use the better the gloves feels...don't buy and keep it and use only on tourings.

Hiya,

 

I am using the GPR with Keprotec. Got it from Chong Aik some time ago. It is very comfortable and not too warm.

 

Chiap Lee has some gloves that is very reasonably priced that is even lined with Kevlar. Can't remember the brand though. Also, you can try the newly opened Fox shop that is opposite Regina that has many selections of gloves that range from about $50 dollars upwards. They are more geared for the MX scene but the gloves do offer a reasonable amount of protection.

Since the last ride to Kuantan, I am still "itching" for rides. Anybody else have the same symptoms as me?

 

So, I am planning another day ride soon. Destination wise, I am open for any suggestions. Some of the places that I have in mind include, Pengerang, Tanjung Piai, Bekok Waterfalls or Malacca. I more inclined to use the trunk roads instead of the NSH.

 

Any takers???

I am keen on the Bekok waterfalls. It should be a day trip. The distance is not that far, the place is still in Johor state. Need to get some more info on it. Let me sort it out and I'll post the details soon.

 

What I know is that we can hang out and swim around the waterfalls. Maybe we can pack some makan and have a small little picnic at the vicinity.

Just got myself a jacket today, not a dedicated riding jacket, but a regular jacket for daily use. It is lightweight but with insulation to protect you from the elements. Price is very reasonable and it comes in various sizes.

 

Some may know it as the USAF MA-1 Flight Jacket, but for those who have no clue, I have attached a picture for your viewing pleasure.

 

Feel free to contact me if you are keen on it. FYI, in comes in Black or Green.

Think i'll take some time to sort the photos for the kuantan trip out. Need to find some applications to reduce the file size..just bought the camera so will need to explore. Be a bit patient guys. Will keep ya updated once i get it sorted.
