Jleo,

Did the Phuket ride once, it was a total of about 18 hours ride with stops only for fuel and food. Slept overnight in Haadyai before heading up to Phuket via Phang Nga. Return leg was via Krabi. It is about 12 hours to Haadyai and another 6 hours to Phuket.

I started the journey at 0300hrs and reached Haadyai 12 hours later. It is very tiring to ride for prolonged periods of time, no matter how comfortable your bike is. Please equip yourself with a proper road map because the Thai roads signs do not say which route to Phuket, you have to plan ahead what roads to take.

Also, please do not forget to bring your vehicle Log Card and the necessary papers. You also need to buy insurance when riding into Thailand, which is available at Bukit Kayu Hitam (last post b4 hitting Thailand border town of Sadao).

Jleo, if you going in Oct...need another bugger to go along?

OMD, if you set off at 3am, means you'll most prob be riding at the scorching hot hours on NSH... this could have made you tired...

What i did was set off Esso GP 11pm. constant 130 to 140km/h..

3 top ups ( Ayer Keroh, Tapah & Sg Perak) last top up before border (Bt Kayu Hitam). Reach border 730am, clear custom (30minutes). Breakfast 1 hour.

Continue approx 9am, another 800km+ to go. Reach Phuket approx 2 to 3pm (all SGP time).

Still got time to shower, nap awhile and start the Singha!

Cannot commit to any dates as yet cos i jus had a call from my employers to start work tml... Once i start on my shift, i might be able to start as i have alternate 3 n 4 days break per week.

4 days should be enuf to ride up/down + 2 nights at Phuket downing the Singhas n Changs... :lovestruck:

Anyway how about a meetup this sat?? Jalan Kayu @ ard 10pm.. Any takers??

Count be out for this Sat nite... I have an event at Semb till late.. and an early one on Sunday... how abt Breakfast with Custom and Me on Sat morning at GP?

Yeah man, nice to meet old mates. Anyhow, I still see some of the old kakis once and a while, in fact, one of them do join us for rides, except that he rides a ZX11. You would know him if you meet him, used to ride a XR600.

About the Zero One.........I am kinda lost there????

Don't get confused actually it is me 'Silverghost' uses that nick-name 'Zero One' in YDCN...

About going into JB only 10min in/out never go anywhere? as Custom had few plans.

Indeed.

Laughed so much till my throat was dry, esp of the story on the ABC n the 'wind'....

Perhaps make the meetup fixed like on every first or last fri/sat of the month. Then we all can do our respective arrangements n make it down if time allows. Our working schedules are stated out already so i think this can be arranged.

Also, i hope we can have day trips regularly(every quarter) n perhaps a long(2-4days) trips one once a year.

On the topic of long trip, i'm serious about a ride up to Hatyai or if better to Phuket in Dec (if i'm already confirmed) or Jan. A 4-6 days ride up n down. Dunno if its too early to suggest this but no harm putting it out now n asking 4 responses of interests. Anyone???

would like to join u but suggest to take it easy.... overnight on the way up and overnight on the way back will be kind for my old bones.

Don forget that there r some of us who is still w/o the extender.

As u know most of us will be very busy at the end of the yr so it will be very difficult. At least I know that our joker(also know as lady killer) can't make it during this period of time.

Juz post a date and c how lar....

Regular meetup will be goood... I'll try very hard to ON.

Current project.... think hard on how to install my new handle bar after it fails 1st time...

Till then then I can be as comfort as u.
