I am a Vtec1 owner, seriously think a Duke M4 is a cool bike. Enough power to bring u ard in SG, inverted forks, monoshock, double exhaust.. :lovestruck:

But I gila speed lah, so went for the S4. Somemore still schooling, anything goes wrong with the S4, its easier to rectify. But definitely up to the Monster :thumb:

Yep .. you got it .. it's not all about the speed. The curves down Cameron Highlands are also dam nice. That's where the monster belongs :thumb:

life is short, everyones only lives once. i used to ride s4, now riding m4. for performance is s4 is better. m4 for styles n mid performance.but m4 got value, u can export n get min 1k, s4 cant. also m4 can upgrade to m750cc, advance class 2, hehe. for long terms, m4 still worth it. is a collectable items.

i tink u shud go for Ducati M400...

really kinda powerful bike..rare & old skool...if pple wanna steal ur parts, there is not really much tat they can do..the ducati community is relatively small..so anyting u can go to Minerva for enquiry..

tat's my 0.50cents worth of comment....

really kinda powerful bike..
powerful? i have to disagree with you on that one. the ver s wld feel more powerful BUT IMO the monster wld be more fun to ride everyday..

Hi all, firstly I'm amazed that this thread started in 2003 & still continues till now! Let me share my M4 story (with pride).

I bought my Monster in 1998 (1st version) from a shop. It was 3 months old & it cost me S$9k (good deal)! I renewed a 10yr COE last February 2008 for it after a fruitless attempt at waiting & looking for the 3rd version M4 with fuel injection (Ducati stopped producing it, quoted by Minerva).

It's a great bike, low maintenace compared to Super 4 & lighter too. Though parts are costly or you'll have to wait 2 weeks at least! Its still great even after I had a serious accident that won me S$80k in claim!!! The downside was that I was in crutches for 7 months (multiple leg fracture) while my M4 waited wif minimal repair (S$500 only)!

BUT after I renewed the COE, its like there's a warranty limit to this bike man! All hell started to go wrong! I admit I didn't really maintain it after I gotten married & became a dad! It became a useful, stylish transport for 5 years. My frens told me my beautiful monster became a real MONSTER!

SO I've decided to continue my search for another 2nd or 3rd hand fuel injection M4 or I'll have to take my Class2 & get the latest Monster 700cc (697cc I think, saw it on display at Kallang Leisure mall). I'll let go of my dear M4 to any RICH rider who's willing to do up my M4 at a cost of S$2k (S$1k for the COE till 2018).

Any Fuel injection M4 rider wanting to let go their bike? Once I get it, my M4 is up for sale. Once again, my apologies for writing so long & thank you for reading! :)

riding as a means of transport; luv for biking=20% interest from other life interest :)

1993 - 1999 = Yamaha FZ150

1999 - now = Ducati M4 '98
