Ways of keeping cats away from your bike

Hi All,

 

Recently, I encountered this problem: The stray cats at my MSCP will sit on the bike seat and sometimes even pee on it. It's pretty disgusting to see cat fur on your seat early in the AM.

 

Any suggestions on products I can use to repel the cats (besides covering the bike with canvas)? TIA!

 

 

u may try to park your bike in your own house, kept it in your bathroom. or paddlelock it outside your corridor, or simply sold off your bike or kill all cats or even 1000 other methods ;P

Put cat food on someone else's bike. Or under a conveniently located car. All the cats then go there

Kill a cat, cut their paws and make them into keychains, hang them on the bike to let all other cats know that you mean business, they will not touch your bike in fear of being next.

Both the mini weight bars on my front n rear wheels have stolen, so do i find the theft n rip their fingernails off?

Sianz, my canvas got stolen last week & my passenger seat kena tiny scratches liao. Just spotted a cat jumping on it to rest, & I immediately go down & chase it away lol.

 

Gotta try to apply axe oil to it le...

Yes. If can put their face to your rear tyre and do a burnout.

Orange peels and moth balls work best for me. I think while nearly everyone here has experienced cat pee, fur, scratched seats and paintwork, paw prints...I doubt if any of you kena what I kena before; cat's menses -.-

I have been using canvas for 1 year and I parked my bike on 3rd floor of multi storeys carpark. The cats came and sleep inside and urine. It really stinks but luckily they never scratch my seat.

Same thing happened to my friend's bike. He went overseas for 2 weeks, so parked his bike at my place.

 

When I was removing the canvas yesterday morning, a cat jumped out from the rider seat

I believed it was too cold in the night, so it hide under the cover to keep warm lol.

Juz use a old car floor matt and put it over the seat....

too thick to scratch thru, bird shxt cant go thru,

protect from rain and sun oso...

Where can I keep/store it after I ride off from the CP? Consider don't have any boxes/luggages fitted on the bike.

HAHAHAHA ..i was pleasantly surprised to find this thread. I thought NO ONE would blog about this, and I was the only unlucky one who got cat pee, fur, scratched leather seat (have spent more than hundred bucks replacing seat).

 

I cover one of my bike with plastic cover, and two other bikes I put obstacle course on my seat such as rubber bands.. cats have avoided after that.

However, for my maxiscooter, my seat is covered, so the cat went to seat in the tunnel area in between the footrests!!! So occassionally I get cat fur and pee over that area. Bloody disgusting!

 

I keep a bottle of water under my seat storage, to rinse off.

Their paws scratches the seat. My Shadow rear seat has paw marks when I bought the bike. Can't blame the previous owner and bike shop.

the nets make it more comfortable. had a cat peed once, had to change the seat cover cos of the smell. then bought the spikey plastic from daiso still sleep on it and pee. i like cats but this really pissed me off. the smell is unbearable. i called town council to get rid of them if not ill get rid of them myself! waiting to see what happens.
