Maybe your fren changed the spark plugs with the wrong heat range? Happened to my fren before... Then he changed the correct heat range plugs and the bike was running fine...

If your bike still moving when clutched in, then chances are your clutch plates are worn off...

so wat heat range de spark plug should we use for cbr? last time my friend told me that also got to do with riding style to choose. is it true? like higher rev kind of riding should use higher heat range.

hi guy i am new. i just pulled out a cbr from shop (R model). everything is fine but just that when i rode at 3-4 rpm that bike seem to bike stuck and can't accelerate after 1~2 second and it slowly picked up .

Might be your carbs... One cheap way to attempt to resolve this would be use some fuel additive in your fuel... I got one from Racewerkz last time was pretty good... Forgot wat it was called, FP60 or something... No harm trying it, just 10-20 dollars I think... For me I just too lazy to add these things when I refuel... :cheeky:

Yes it's true... For extended high speed riding you should use a diff plug... But singapore not much extended riding you can do, unless you go up and down the PIE everyday... And no high speed riding possible with all the TP waiting for you... :deal:

Anyway for NGK plugs, you should use the 8E plugs for normal riding and 9E for high speed riding.

For Denso plugs it's 24FE for normal and 27FE for high speed riding...

by adding the addictives. wat will it help?

so say if i hit the expressway everyday. and maybe travelling at 100 like that. 8E or 9E will be better?

does denso and NGK really makes the difference? i heard from my friend who tried both. he say denso better. but most of the time shop tell me ngk is good enough.

Normally Fuel addictive are supposed to clean your fuel system, if I remember correctly the FP60 will increase your octane level, meaning if you normally pump 95 you can downgrade to 92 and add this and it will be the same as 95... Also supposed to be giving you better mileage... When I did tried it few years back, I did feel the effects that it advertised... Dunno about now though... :cheeky:

Your riding style is normal riding... 8E good enuff... IMHO i feel NGK and denso about the same lah... Maybe denso slightly better, NGK iridium about the same as Denso iridium... I think price wise denso a bit more ex... Perhaps it's a brand thing... Bottom-line try both and see for yourself... My self I tried both and din feel much difference... :cheeky:

hi guys, is the cost of COE for new vehicles the same as the cost of COE for older vehicles being renewed?? heard from someone that it costs less to renew an old vehicle with COE dying than current COE price (2.6k)....

Cheap + fast = no good

Cheap + good = not fast

Good + fast = not cheap

For renew COE, you need to pay the PQP prevailing quota premium... Basically what it means is you need to pay the average of the last 3 months COE... Look at this link for the rates. http://www.lta.gov.sg/corp_info/doc/COE_Result_2010_2011.pdf

I think now is at S$1711. Last year I was like you... :cheeky: January 2010 was at $800+ only but I wait and wait till sept pay $1300... :faint:

The other alternative is you renew for 5 yrs and pay half... But after 5 years you must scrap the bike lioz... :(

thanks for the reply dude, 5 years for cbr400 might be enough considering how old the bike is already...

I think if you ride normally and use 9E still can use, but I guess maybe might be sluggish perhaps... But if you mod the bike which cause the cylinder temperature to increase then using 9E would be a better choice...

No need sorry lah bro... :cheeky: Any way I am guessing it might be sluggish coz I have read that using a colder plug might cause loss of spark... I have not experienced it myself as I nv use the colder plugs before...

Maybe those of you using the colder plugs can comment, you never know maybe using the colder plugs might be better for singapore climate... :cheeky:
