Hi regarding your prob with the meter, i know its kinda irritating to see your speedo twitch when you jus wanted to test your top end. Its just that your speedo has run out of tune for its age....

I had similar encounters when my speed was nearing 160km/h.....

I tried replacing the speedo cable. the white washer at the spocked end(front), But stil din't help.

Finally i decided to replace my whole speedo. Just the speedo. THEN....

It solved the prob. my needle on speedo states a very clear speed reading even way thru the 180km/h mark.

Another reason for me to change the speedo, the surface of my old speedo has a melted waxing causing the display to be unclear.

Price of speedo $160. Chong aik. Install DIY.

Hmm.. so it's likely to be the problem with the speedo. Do you know of any digital speedo for recommendation? If I were to change the speedo, I would rather get a digital one.

yo guys....izzit ok 2 quickly 'blow' first b4 switching of the engine??

"Blowing" will just increase wear and tear next time you start the engine.

The best way is to let the engine idle for a few seconds then switch off normally.

i ve tried using 2 digital speedo so far... 1st was a japanese brand... forgot the brand.... rectangular shaped.... was good.

2nd was a round shaped brand KOSO. i DIY the bracket as the bracket it comes with cant fit our blade....

The meter was quite accurate....

Blue backlite. I clocked more than 200km/h on using the meter... can get a good reading compared to stock meter u cant gauge speed aft 180km/h...

I dyno tested the bike to see the accuracy level for the meter was 2km/h different from the meter, so its stil quite accurate.

If you chose to get the ones from motoworld you need to remove your whole speedo to replace with those type of meter. :thumb:

vik common sense lah comeon.. u blow the petrol goes to the combustion chamber, the space between the top of the piston and the plug and u kill ur engine causing the spark plug to not fire thus there is this small amt of petrol in tt area.. so now i ask u when u clean ur aprilia valve when u use petrol to brush against it wad happens? all the carbon deposits and wadeva oils gets washed away. so imagine ur'e slowly washing ur pistons clean. while ur bike is being parked due to gravity petrol will flow downwards slowly thus "cleaning" the pistons of the 4t which most ppl want as much 4t as u can to stay arnd ur piston areas so tt on the next crank. the friction between the piston and the block not so siong. imagine doing the deed without lube.. ouch.. so definitely blowing before hitting the kill switch is a big nono :cheer:

omg vik u juz got burnt by a N lvl holder :cheeky:

Alamak bro ... cannot say like dat lah bro. He has his reasons for putting box. Rather than having to put all stuffs on tank or strapped to pillion seat, which I think is dangerous, a box is a safer option.

I have box on mine, bike looks better without it but having it on certainly doesn't make it "ugly", makes it a lot more convenient for carrying stuff around though, particularly when you get caught in the rain and want to put your stuff somewhere dry.
