devilish last time u change ur gearbox ratio, do u downsize the 6th gear? or something? my sp 15 front 37 rear top speed only 210 at 13k rpm... nv overrev... cos cannot go up...

btw ... ani 1 wif experiance on porting? wad does it do ? widen the power band ? or shift the powerband up to higher rpm , so when drag race, it will provide more power at top end too ?

which is a better upgrade option? i using stock open pipe n boyesen reed

1. Chamber pipe

2. port block n carb

3. Change carb only(upsize) + speed bearing

definitely have to downsize, closer to 1:1 for the 6th gear. my sprocket ratio at that time was 42/16. closed gear ratio 1-6 (if i can roughly recall): 2.5, 1.8, 1.5, 1.3, 1.2, 1.1 respectively. this ratio has been optimised for both straight road as well as the bendy south buona vista gap.

bro, your sp is already at its max speed. sprocket ratio of 37/15 giving u top 210 @ 13krpm means ur machine is at ideal setting although ur pickup has been greatly reduced. my humble advice is to stick to 38/15 cos IMHO that is sp's optimum sprocket ratio whereby your 37/15 will need a lot more road than u think to be able to catch up with a 38/15 going only at 190-200 tops due to it's overpowering pickup. in this case which just one teeth does make a few km of difference.

btw, may i know what u use to cover ur front sprocket sz 15?

u sure or not bro? i've got 3 close frens who were ex-sp riders for more than 3 yrs, stock 14t front sprocket is jus nice for e cover to fit in. when they change to 15t, they had to improvise on a makeshift cover cos e stock one doesnt fit. if u go to any bike shop, they will discourage u to use 15t becos of that. they'll jus tell u to use 38/14 which will only give u a topend of 185. correct me if i'm wrong.

just came back from jb. this is wat i changed from what i remembered:

piston ring - 58

gasket -

valve set - 95

valve brush -

2x valve cable - 30

coolen - 8

splug - 5

labour - 30

all totaled to 306 where he charged only 300.

i feel its abit too expensive. ive changed my 2nd valve set in 2 months. Possibly because of the settings. They reset for me it and it feels nicer but i dont think its optimal.

and btw.. after i thottle i can here the piston moving up and down from fast to decending speed. wth. is it normal or wat?

supafly. im going again later (as in tomorrow). i'll give u a call.
