Rusty Tank

Hi,

 

Just wondering are there any ways to resolve the issue of rusty fuel tanks?

Rust inside, suck thumb and use - or change the fuel tank. Do be careful to ensure the fuel tank cap is not leaking though - if water (rain / bike washing) gets in, the rust will only worsen.

 

Rust outside is easier to rectify. Sand the surface, apply primer or rust converter and paint. Else, you could use those "Hammerite" paints from Mustafa that can be applied directly over rust.

i heard about chemical treatment.. but not sure how well does it solve the problem

wad bike r u riding bro? if it's like rxz or something, jus go JB and get a new tank. v cheap! cheaper than do any repair works on it lo.

v cheap only... chiong ones in SG is around $120... in JB also ard that price or slightly higher...

 

btw, my frn is selling his OEM one, 2nd hand purple color one, at $40 negotiable... PM me if you are interested...

imagine u bought a tank at SG for SGD120 and bought a tank at JB for RM140... do u think there's a difference?

there is amethod to clean it off but u a chemical & battery charger...( i read in us forum & it works 100%..clear all the rust)

2nd method is bring to the shop to do inter coating(liked mine until now no problem)...cost me $150( big tank)
