There is road sign "left turn green arrow ahead" at the junction of Kaki Bukit Rd 1 and Kaki Bukit Ave 2, it's blue and rectangular in shape.

The traffic light order in Kaki Bukit Rd 1 - Kaki Bukit Rd 2 direction is always green -> red ->green, I never saw the "left turn green arrow" in operation, and was confused by the road sign.

Knew it's for information, but wondering what need to be aware when trying make left turn.

I went google map and saw it, it means left green arrow will light up when horizontal lanes are turning into your vertical lanes. (when horizontal traffic lights turn red with green arrow),

normally will have green arrow is because the horizontal lane they are unable to uturn from their lanes thus making you vertical lane turning left safe.

Left Turn Green Arrow Ahead - This means the vehicles on the extreme left lane can turn left when the traffic light in their position is RED, on the exception the Green Arrow appears. This usually happens at a T-Junction/X-Junction.

Thanks for everyone.

Still could not understand the logic/intenion behind the "Left Turn Green Arrow Ahead "

Here are my guessing after reading all inputs.

It may mean there is a protected left turn for Kaki Bukit Ave 2 and traffic going straight ahead or turning right may not proceed when the left turn arrow appears for on coming traffic or the left turn should yeild the u-turn.

PS, I think the u-turn is illegal at this junction.

Any further comments ?

If you don't see the left-turn-only green light, it means the sign is placed at the wrong place. No need think too deep.

In the past... There was a sign called "Left Turn On Red" displayed at usually a T-Junction. Safety concerns kicked in subsequently removing such signs. In short, move on with caution should lights be in your favour
