Hi all...I have been doing quite a lot of research about this camera thing and am thinking the best thing to do is to have a front and a rear camera because you never know if someone is gonna rear end you. This is especially true after I saw the video of Ewan McGregor getting rear-ended by a kid in a Honda Civic. Scary!!!

So anyway, I've read about lots of cameras since I first came upon this thread. After so much of searching, I think I've found the ideal one for my use. It is small, light-weight, rugged, dust proof, water proof, shock proof, records directly to SD digitally, long battery life, wireless remote control, lots of mounting options AND available in Singapore.

I'm talking about the Vio POV 1.5 camera. Have you guys seen it? It looks ideal to me. Take a look at: http://www.vio-pov.com/products/pov_15m.php.

What do you think?? Interested?? It is a little pricey...940sgd for the 1.5. But price reduces to

hi, i wonder if it's possible to use HP holder for cars to install on bike and try to film while riding/on the video and slot into the HP holder.. will try and see if the inmages works.. :)

yeah.. this one is nice.. use HP and record... dual function... :)

that's wat I've been thinking.. but can't think of anyway to mount it up.. i wonder if using 2 megal pixel or 3.2 is it enough?

bro.. i just went to the website and see it.. since you mentioned earlier that 2 cameras required.. this one onli one camera.. price is indeed steep and seems pretty hard to remove... I doubt anyone would wan to risk their camera gone...

Just my 2 cents.. :)

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

hard to remove? you mean the mounts is it? some of them are velcro...should be easy to remove. some have those simple quick release catch type. should be ok lah.

anyway, if no interest then i'll just get for my own use. but it does look like the best ones so far. the other ones are cumbersome lah. this one looks simple to my simple mind.

Does not matter 2 MP or 3.2MP or 5MP (Oni for still image).

It's the video resolution that matters.

Nokia new phones 640x480 at best (actually shd be good enuff ald, juz that these new phones haben hit sg market).

Nokia current "standard" phones' video resolution think is like mine - 176x144, which is really pathetic.

Also, 15 Frames per second (fps) is different from 30fps - of coz 30fps more smooth, 15fps video will be jerky.

I'm actually looking to buy this one:

http://www.vholdr.com/

Since I already have a Vado for the front, may get this one to point at the rear.

How u wanna mount for rear?

Err, use the same mount on the helmet but point the camera backwards?

yeah...the contourHD looked good when i saw it earlier as well...the only problem is that battery life is only 2 hrs...means gotta find a way to charge when outside. also don't have singapore distributor at the moment...worried about the support in case it fails.

it does have different options for mounting so using it for a rear camera isn't a problem.

i'm actually torn between the 2 at the moment. the biggest problem for me is battery life. how are you planning to get around this?

My rides are short so I'm not really bothered. I have thought about rigging a charging station to the bike battery though...

Otherwise just buy a spare battery.

:cheeky: im not so sure abt that coz the drag will be on 1 side of ur head/ neck.

dis cams i think meant for maybe riding dirt track - where there will be many jaw dropping moments, but generally that high speed.

if u mount that and go >120kph, dunno if the drag will be significant. :cheeky:

That's why must buy to try what... who knows by talking?

But patience... GSS on right now so my budget a bit tight. I will get it soon and post my findings here. And I will get my CBR954 rider to test it to confirm effect on wind drag!

Woohooz! :thumb: CBR954! Mouth-watering!

coz my removable mount is at the front of helmet. When my 73g HP is mounted on, already can feel the drag when i check blind spots. somemore i was going 90 - 110 oni. :cheeky:

At 100km/h I wouldn't bet that the suction can hold...

True true.. but I heard the bike mount cost quite a bit. not sure if it's worth it.. and tried looking in accessories shop but can't find. :sian: btw, anyone found a way to waterproof it yet?
