How is it attached to the helmet?

Will it drop off when mounted onto the helmet?

I'm not sure, but some photos on the website shows the camera mounted on the helmet with a strong industrial double sided tape.

The camera also comes in another form, the GoPro HD Helmet Hero, with helmet harness and strap for more secure mounting. Link below:

Finally got my lazy ass moving and did a simple/cheap attachment with my $0 nokia phone which worked quite good ! :cheeky:

Items needed :

1) Camera ( i know obvious la hahaha , i using Nokia 5800 Xpress Music)

2) Belt ( I used my army No.4 belt...better then leaving in storeroom for ICT lol)

3) 1 camera pouch , same like lutein's on page 1.

4) 1 normal clip and 1 zip tie ( or maybe you can use those elastic bands)

5) A pair of scissors

Total costs...$5 ? lol

Method :

1) Fit your camera into the pouch and arga-arga know where the lens opening then cut a hole lor

2) Clip the pouch to the SAF belt and secure the opening with zip-tie ( i tested it without zip-tie and the opening did not open but just in case accident happen , you wont want your phone to slid out and be destroyed so better secure with zip-tie)

3) Wear the belt on your chest, mine is slightly blocked by the IU because phantom got low seating position , maybe adjust tmr and see how.

Disadvantages:

1) Quite difficult to get the angle correct and looks quite funny hahaha

2) Might constrict your breathing , must adjust multiple times to get a secure yet not constricting length.

3) 5 mins video already took 100mb ! , memory 8gb nia so can only take like 1-2 hrs of video , which i think is ok la.

Any idea why i cannot embed the video ?

I use the No.4 belt to strap to my helmet.

Then use the loop that is adjustable to strap down the camera.

I also use the caribina to clip it just in case it fly away.

That way it films where ever I look now.

Cost $1.50 for the caribina. :)

$90 for the spy cam.

Belt FREE! :D

For all riders who would like to video record their rides, pls do not be inspired by the WRONG reasons:

[/yt]

wah... the way it crash looks damn scary... bike hit bike head on...

Some drivers are just out to Kill You.

can the video be use as an evidence in the events of an accident???

Go one around over the top, like bandage like that!

The camera on top, quite accurate, but films abit higher. Eg: When I test by reading a book, while filming at home, check footage, can only see the first line of the book.

But on the road quite ok, because when looking at whole car, only a small part of the tires missing. The plate, bumper and rest of the car can see. :)

1) gotta callibrate. hahaz.

2) constrict breathing sounds serious, in the safety sense.

3) 8GB is more than enuff, just that u gotta remove unwanted videos now and then.. mine only 2.6GB usable nia.

i don't mind the talking...but dang...when that cam is mounted on the helmet...the videos almost always make me wanna puke...don't turn the head so much!!!

 check blindspot ma.

maybe can, if it does not first of all show any rider in any compromising stunts.

that video, the other biker den poor thing. ride safely on his own lane also dio... :faint: think both gone.. :(

  • 2 weeks later...

My first "MTV" with the GoPro Hero HD. First time doing editing with windows movie maker, but the output resolution can only be 480 and highly compressed. I ride slow slow one, so can be boring for some. :cheeky: Thanks lacrimosae for the MO.

The forward view is mounted on the fuel tank, slightly on the right side, the rear view is mounted on the front fairing just above the right headlights. Both using the suction mount. :)

the clips is taken w/ a R6 @ devil's bent, upper thomson road? o_O

i m considering 6 cameras.

1x @ the bike's head, facing the road

1x @ tank facing the rider

1x @ area captureing the front forks and wheels.

1x @ the tailboard facing the rear road

1x @ tailboard facing the rider

1x @ area capturing the rear tyres.

like that confirm looks-motogp-ish and can monitor my riding style/mistakes + surrounds also... however, if "something happens..." then bye bye to the 6 cameras...

I got only 1 cam. So I have to do the run 4 times to collect the footage and edit them together....:sian:

Yah, its quite good. But the surface must be smooth, clean and flat, or else will shake or drop off.

Yea if rain then also i dun think you will put to let your cam in the rain hahaha...

Anyway the vidz is nice and very clean and stable. Not like mine too much vibration when i go higher RPM. Hmmmmmm.... need some dampening on the cam hahaha.

Thanks for sharing, hydrop!

Nice vids! Yes the GoPro's suction cup mount is very strong. Tested up to 170kph on car door, and it was still there when we opened the door. :cheeky:

Actually, any suction cup mount is strong on clean and smooth surfaces. But on a dusty or uneven surface, even the world's best/strongest suction cup wont hold.

I intend to order a few more accessories, like extra batteries, and the anti-fog inserts. I tried shooting in the rain and the interior fogged up, slightly obscuring the footage.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

I'm considering 3 X Cameras. 1 X Helmet, 1 X Front & 1 X Back should be enough. I currently sourcing for my personal use. Will post results when i get confirmation from the suppliers.
