Your question is so cute. Which models are you looking at? Which model years?

Frankly, 99.9% of us here will never be able to utilise any of these late model sports bikes to their full potential to be able to say xx brand goes round the track faster than yy brand.

Magazine tests may say zz brand laps 123 circuit fastest, but then you realise the difference in laptimes is measured by tenth's of a second. So your question of "which is better" is basically irrelevant.

Just get the one that you fancy most.

Past: KDX200, LC4 400, LC4 620, GSXR750WR

Present: CBR900RRY, Gas Gas EC250, XR250L, XR250RV, XR400 (motard-ed), NX650 Dominator

Since threadstarter posted this question in our sportsbikes section, I'm going to assume that he wants to buy a Class 2 sportsbike. All I can say is that if he wants to go for looks, get a Yamaha R1. If he wants to go for handling, get a Honda CBR1000 and lastly if he wants to go for power and performance, go get a Suzuki GSX R1000... :thumb:

Want to ride literbike, ask which one cheaper :sian:

If you are concerned about the money, you really shouldn't ride a literbike. It is more expensive than you think. Spare parts prices are all about the same unless you want an Italian bike.

Yeah,u right rhema83, At first u must be really interested and love to ride big bike, dun just coz everyone is riding big bike that's why i wanted... initially have to come out a bit sum of $$.later u will be used to it..betw suggest u go for 600cc bike 1st if u never ride before..

Actually, unless you have solid plans to frequent the track, don't buy the latest breed of 600cc middleweights. The powerband is very high up in the rev range and you will not be able to enjoy the power that you have paid so much for on Singapore roads. It is actually "safer" to go with literbikes. Exceptions are the "oversized" middleweights like the ZX6R (636cc) and Triumph Daytona (675cc).

As for which bike... They all have their pros and cons. CBR1000RR is known to have a few electrical problems. GSXR1000 has a brittle frame. R1 is slightly more prone to theft. ZX10R is a little more expensive to insure and maintain and has ergonomics that suit the track more than the road.

Hmmm.... which explains the lost of litre bikes in Johore by Sillyporeans.

Now, you want us not to worry about theft of litre bikes?

i reckon that suzuki has expensive spares...but kawa that i know of, ordering parts requires days and money. i think the most commonly found is still honda.~

i would go for honda or yamaha due to ease of getting spare parts.

if for track use, my friends say that 600 is better for PG and 1000 would be good in sepang but of course 600 can do just as well but loose out on e straights.

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

think safety depends on the rider

i love dividends.

I think it really depends on what you are looking for.

I would settle for a R1 though. Like Rhema said, Suzuki has brittle frame that cracks on its own and CBR has coil problems.

Theft problem can be settled by buying Fire & Theft policies. Besides I really prefer R1's looks. :p

Maybe you can choose to buy more bike mags to have a second opinion.
