Hi Neo,

I juz bought a 1998 916.

I heard that Ducati OEM clutch slave pumps are not reliable. Any place in S'pore i can get good aftermarket ones? Preferably not internet or Ebay.

Thanks!

Hi Guys,

I also just bought a ducati. I have been riding jap 600s for too long a time to be missing the torque of a big twin cylinder bike. I rode the bike back home yesterday and it was so torquey that it is actually difficult to ride the bike at slow speeds (jerky), too used to the smooth 600s lah.

I did find the riding posture too extreme, actually the handlebars are a little too far out infront for me (short guy) and i still do not feel confident riding it. Maybe I will get used too it by riding more. Now still at work and already think of home and the Ducati....

Sorry Guys THE ORIGINAL GOLD is no longer suitable for display

I bought the 996sps.

Does the bike's steering lock allow the handlebars to turn more to the right than the left? Somehow I find that my steering to the right is more than the left.

I dont know abt the steering lock, mine does not lock at all due to the change in the fork angle.

I was told it can be change back but I have yet to try it.

Hi,

After running it for about 30mins yesterday, I went to get petrol and a drink. After finishing my drink, I tried to start the bike, but nothing happen. After trying for 5 mins it sprang to life again....

When I was about to reach home 20 mins later, I stalled the bike at a traffic light due to poor control of the clutch and this time the bike refuse to start again....

Tried the same methods as before but it didnt work. Got advise from ex-owner that it might be some electrical fault... I removed the right fairing to see if anything came loose. After touching here and there for a while, it sprang to life again.....

Check battery connections. Juz a thot.

Cheers

It worked! Today the same problem occur and I couldnt start the bike from cold. I fiddle with the wires connecting to the battery and bingo... bike started to roar...

Terminal connections..... Corrosion might have taken place, or it might be lose.... Worst case senario, cable might be disconected somewhere in the middle....

Hello cagiva 03

maybe you have already known but you can try to get some information from here

http://www.ducati.ms/forums/index.php?

a)click the superbike icon and there you can search for some common problems faced by fellow Ducati riders.

b)Click "search the Forum" top right after you have click a)

You may like to start major components and easier accesibility first like :

1) injector/ignition relays (two blocks located underneath your seat)

2) RR (Rectifer & Regulator) the charging yellow cable from alternator to your RR

(Location: right fairing) .

I just change mine RR due to a fusing to the yellow cables as in item 2 above.

good luck on the trouble shooting.

ride safe bro.

Italian electrics usually funky ... gotta check (and replace if necessary) relays and fuses, carry spares. Also make sure grounding is excellent. Glad your bike is running now. Suggest you smear some Vaseline on the terminals too to prevent corrosion.

Cheers
