A Ducati had been making mechanix out of riders since the 70s.....Ducs are not problem free, let's just say......exotic. Even the Buells are problematic loaded, but owners adore them.

Jap bikes are more maintenance friendly, with more mileages to spare between major servicings. There's no problem free bikes...it's how competent the owner is.

Ya, kindda agree your enthusiasm is abet overflowing. There had been countless pics of 848 all over the last few pages. Rather see photos taken when you are actually riding the bike.

A Jap bike in the tracks would raise a thumbs up from me rather an Italian garage queen though. I pray to know how you could even be tired of riding a Jap bike?

I still cannot figure out how people can use a superbike as daily transport, the overheating in traffic, lack of luggage space, no ERP unit . . . . even riding to Orchard once or twice a month is killing me !

Mb riding bike is much more easy to reach the destination even there is a traffic jam where else if driving car we cant reach the destination if we promise someone the actual time.

R6_2003. Wanna try something new? try riding on the track? Seriously, it will be fun and it will help u learn more abt handling ur bike. Would love to see it for real at PG.

Seoulnow. I ride my bike everday to work and when i'm hanging out at nite. I have no ERP to pass thru on the way to work, and my bike has no IU unit anyway. :p

i need to start carrying less junk so i can do the same! Mines a mono so not even the slightest of space or anything! I work in town so theres heaps of lights, and watching the temp go 120+ . . . heart pain!

Unfortunately, my office carpark uses the ERP type entry. Got one hooked up to a external battery so i can carry it with me when i absolutely need to.

yes, a 999s. its my favourite, the color is priceless!!! I ride a FZ1 & scoot to work about 1/2 the time. Tried doing it on the duke but gave up after 3 days. Roasted thighs are not something to be proud of.

Actually, honestly speaking, it's really sucks when i ride my Duke on a hot afternoon day in the City. IMO, the superbikes catergories aren't meant to be used as daily transport in congested traffic of Singapore. I only feel "high" when i use it on the track and on North-South highway....

Awwww......you 3 fellas, make me high ^5!

Duc is hot, Duc sucks in traffic, Duc sucks getting stuck when you try to turn in tight spaces between cars.

Why? Italians engineers kept telling us they made Monster, ST, Multistrada and the SS for other purposes.

Bro R6,

Tired of riding a sportsbike is very common...be it an Italian, Jap, America, British or Korea made sportsbike. The very main reason is most owners ride on the road or just ride to Starbucks. A track, some say it's a merry go round, but you will be surprised how different are the turns and how well most sportsbike handle in the hands of a good rider.

Being 30, married, I respect you put your family first. But the cruel fact is, more riders get into incidents on the road, rather then the tracks. But of course, if you are scare, yes, the tracks will scare you and trigger uncontrolled behaviors like jamming of front brakes, locking of rear wheel, throwing of clutch, overshooting turns because the turn is coming too fast and you target fixate.

Therefore, we always said, get a suit, boots and gloves....start out real slow....nobody would be laughing at you. Slowly, you will improve, and pick up the pace. Remember, race against yourself, not your frens. You spar with your frens and could stop anytime.

Real life example: A fren of mine said riding sportsbike since 2B till now, he's very bored with it. I challenge him to give the track one more chance. He was thrilled by the whole experience though he almost bin it. He's thinking of getting a suit, but now that I'm not in SG, I guess maybe the idea is gone from his head.

I'm also married, older than you, and hey, I got kids even. I enjoy track, though it was much easier to do it before I have kids. I take it easy at the tracks, because I am also responsible to my family. It took me 2 yrs before I actually touch my sliders, but so what?

You are right that it is the rider that makes the difference. Where else to better yourself as a rider than the tracks?

Maybe you might see more of us here in the tracks, rather than coffee meetups. Duc owners love to chat up more in the riders department, rather than the salesman department.

Oh, BTW, maybe Ducati Superbikes do not like the rain. Cover the bike if you park unsheltered.
