hey victoria you upgrade to my all time fav ducati..... who took over ur pinky??

There is someone out there for me

I know there is someone out there

I know she is waiting so patiently yeah

Can you tell me her name?

(Somebody tell me her name)

This life-long search is gonna drive me insane

How does she laugh?

How does she cry?

What's the color of her eyes?

Does she even realize I'm here?

Where is she? Where is she? Where is she?

Where is this beautiful girl?Who is she? Who is she?

Who is gonna complete my world?

Previously with my 999, i manage to tie my bag on the pillion seat.

But with my R1, cannot. So i carry it on my shoulder, the usual way lor.

Some of my friends do the same thing too, tying on the pillion seat.

You'll foul your plugs if you do that. Unless you plan to wait on the road shoulder for the traffic to clear.

Dun forget the superbikes are built to race or run at higher speeds, or crawl in traffic. It's not an electric hybrid. Lol.

Park your bike...come back after 3 hours and your engine is still hot. What will 2 or 10 min do in terms of bringing your engine temp down.

Installing a manual fan switch is a better option. :thumb:

Hi guys

I have learned something from this thread and thanks for sharing your own experienced and veteran advices.

Some of the tips are great although Im not a duc rider at the moment :p

I believed that I have seen your beautiful bike with most of carbon parts which always park outside of coffeeshop. u Should cover it man! :thumb:

Engine coolant is kept at a constant 70-90degrees. Try dipping your hands into 70degrees hot water.

Thats roughly the temperature of the air flowing through the radiator (Maybe lower, 50-70degrees). If it doesn't get mixed with cooler air before getting blasted onto the riders' legs, thats the result.

Naptune did mention she was wearing riding pants and boots already. Looks like its the airflow from the top half of the fairing. Nothing much you can do about that, except to ride when its cooler?

Nowadays, my bike temp shoot up ridiculously from 85 to 104 during the hot day. I assumed that should be normal.

To be honest.. My 999 was quite comfortable. Rode it to KL a few times and to Cameron highlands as well.

If i do feel tired, i'll just relax myself more, and rest my stomach on the tank. Something like a Motogp racer on a straight road at 300km/h. that kind of similiar posture.

I'm not too sure abt the 1098, but try not to curve ur spine forward(chest in front), buy backwards, with ur tummy tucking in. By doing that, u may have to grip the tank a little more, so u can relax ur arms more. A more relax arms helps u to steer/corner better too.

i agreed.. as pushing your spine forward, it may backache too and wont last long for trips.

for me i feel the heat is coming more from the pipes that run vertically up... the heat from the radiator doesn't really bother me that much...

so yeah... i vote for free flow of air too! lol...

seriously, the location of the burns looks like its coming from the pipes... heat wraps would most prob be the best way to go... but it does look kinda trashy... sigh...

I do have such experienced, Hot air flowing through my left leg too.. although at the point of time, the temp only hit 90-95.

There's no way to prevent or change the flow of the heats?

it is to keep the engine running at optimum temp which is 65-80 and not to let it over heat.. i on off the whole yr round and has no issue with foul plugs. btw i'm doing 14k a yr on my bike.

H-Pack. If it does rain, all cover the bag with the rain bag cover.

yo...

i'm gonna ask a very noob question, so bear with me...

i read some forums that the 916 comes in both alloy and steel frames...

how do i know if mine is alloy or steel??

i read somewhere that one is gold and the other is grey... is that true?

thinking of doing up the bike...

got my clutch basket, slave and cover, gonna polish the stock pressure plate... trying to get a cf sprocket cover as well...

next should be making my rims gold... and new tyres when i get back... i can anodize the rims right?

if the frame is alum alloy, technically i can anodize them right?? or would powder coating them be better?

As far as I understand. The 916 main frame are all steel. Sub-frame (under the seat) are steel for regular models and aluminium for SPS models.
