narcx... not having the best luck now are you...

When you entered into the agreement was there a firm deadline given? Have you paid in full? or just given a deposit?

I have no experience with Jin Cheng... so cannot comment on whether this is par for the course or not... But....Obviously you're not happy... so perhpas try and make that more clear and see what happens... You are a Paying Customer after all!

What exactly have you been waiting for for 3 months?? Just a paintjob?

Certainly don't go anywhere near a vehicle that you are not insured on...that's asking for trouble...

certainly not having the best of luck.

yes he did give me a firm deadline, saying he would call me mid june to collect the vehicle but by end of june he didnt call so i went down personally, he then told me he needed another two weeks. he didnt call again, so i went down yesterday. he told me the painter was working on it. but i went to the back and the chap told me he didnt see my scooter. then i found it in a corner.

sigh

bought the scooter from him, so everything is to be restored by him. but he hasnt even started anything on it yet. i did express my unhappiness and told him i needed transport really soon so he offered me a scoot... but the part about not needing insurance is a bti strange... perhaps its a company vehicle? is there such an insurance policy?

narcx, heh, once he starts on yours, rest assured it will be done pretty soon...

but like i've told u before, his deadlines are pretty inaccurate. and nagging/giving pressure to him don't usually work, unless you know him well... (or rather, he knows you well)

But go ahead and nag at him, it will make u feel better!

is it common to wait 3 months or more to get something done at jincheng?

it's really all about luck sometimes..got mine all done up at ah joos in about 1.5 mths a year ago but it took ah joo about 2.5 mths to get just a helmet of mine sprayed when i brought it to him in march. he's just very busy i guess..as machine_k mentioned, once he starts on your scoot he gets it all fixed up pretty fast. helps too if you put a lil pressure on him occasionally to get the job completed quickly. while aj was fixing up my scoot, i went down every other day to check on my bike's progress and asked him about it each time too..the pressure must have worked because i got my bike done in 1.5 mths.

i know of people who waited for their vespas for a good 7 to 9 months too though, from other mechanics, not just ah joo..shalln't namedrop in here but let's just say 3 months of downtime is really quite common though it probably is time to start piling on the pressure :p

best of the luck with the scoot bro :)

Well as long as there's nothing written on Paper regarding the agreed date of completion I guess you'll just have to be patient.

Oh and again the amount of time needed to do a job properly will obviously depend on what job it is... I wouldn't be too worried waiting 3 months for a full restoration... Jobs like that shouldn't be rushed...

thanks everyone. guess i'll just have to wait.

if he offered u a scoot most probably he will have to do some 'magic'....ur scoot have insurance n rd tax??? Waiting time to do scoot is usually 'unusual' except for a few lucky ones...but once ready all will b forgotten :thumb:

sigh... i juz got my scoot and not even a mth of riding, coil spoilt. Mr A.J. told me that the engine is in gd condition but the bike broke down after like riding 3-4 times?

although i rectified the problem with the help of an uncle, i'm quite dissapointed with the working ethics of Mr A.J.

In a customer point of view, i paid him a sum of money fer my scoot and i shld well deserve a serviceble bike which wun give me so much problems.

He gave me a presentable outlook but an 'ugly' engine. :nono:

Dear Fellow Scooterists,

It has been brought to my attention that 'certain' individuals have a bad habit of using this thread to posts unfavourable remarks on Jin Cheng Motors, namely Mr Ah Joo.

Ahqi and Narcx, I sympathise with what you both are going through with your Vespas.

And hopefully your 'problems' would be sorted out soon.

But this is NOT the place to vent your frustrations.

Aj Scooter Club is Not Run by Mr Ah Joo and None of the members of Aj Scooters are Directors of Jin Cheng Motors.

As for the rest of you, so called "Vespa Experts" and Pretentious scooter "FRIENDLIES", Do Not Pass any unnecessary remarks or comments in this thread At All, if what you have to say is of no consequence.

Even if you feel you are being sincere or trying to help a fellow scooterist.

Your 2cents is worth NOTHING here.

Do it elsewhere.

Trust me...YOU ARE NOT HELPING in any way at All!

Unlike other scooter/vespa groups and individuals, we are not in the habit of doing free promotion here or do a Major Suck job to any scooter individuals or vespa shops.

I sincerely hope Everyone and I Do Mean "EVERYONE" abide by this simple request.

Wow... I didn't even say anything argumentative this time... in fact I chose my words VERY carefully.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... If you don't want comments from the public don't have a thread on a public forum... go and chat in the privacy of your website where its members only.

So, while this is still a public forum don't chastise those who have an opinion other than your own... It's simply undemocratic.

I find your attitude to be rather unbecoming of the leader of a scooter group. Frankly I'm shocked at the nasty & derisive tone in which you wrote that post.
